U.S. oil futures fell sharply on Tuesday as investors fled riskier assets to dollar safety on
growing concerns that the European debt crisis could worsen and damage a fragile
global economic recovery. Gold is set to resume its upward trend over the next month
as concerns over euro zone sovereign debt and wider instability in the financial markets
spark demand for the metal .
