Ready for takeoff is not just a book but personal experiences shared by author.

In the preface author is discussing about the journey of his life and the activities he
made to become a successful person in life. According to the author no one is born
perfect one has to do some efforts to survive in this competitive era. As he say he
never wrote any article since his schooling or college degree bt he was surprised
when he actually wrote a book. Earlier when someone ask him to write something
he feels likehe is not meant for such kind of works , But when he start writing he
shared his personal experiences in it, ready for takeoff is something like wake up
from sleeping. He put his personal experiences and makes the fiction story as non
fiction . He was talking about ANURAG a fellow who was very much experienced and
the author was new to manufacturing business. Author done his MBA from IIMA and
worked in sales with HUL then he joined VARDHAMAN at that time he was 25 years
old he was appointed as a new ED in the company and was given the charge of
setting up a spinning mill-AURO spinning mill in baddi ,HP and then running it after a
month`s induction in the group`s head office in Ludhiana.
The experiences which were discussed in this book was acual or some of them seen
or happen on someone. As he does`nt know about manufacturing but he took
initiative and accepted the challenge to work. As he was not experienced to handle
a large team in his first meeting he urged them to dream of their ideal organization
and wind up the meeting. As he was the boss and at top management so all staff
follow his orders and does`nt give any feedback or there is no communication
between staff and author. Which was not liked by author he wants to make them
comfortable and want to create a healthy relationship between superior and
subordinates he provide some recreational activities too know more about the
workers after starting of project author visit to see the performance of workers even
he caught some of them sleeping at working hours it was the second time when he
was giving speech to group of employees he asked too many question about work
,about expectations ,about mission etc. but all this creates a team spirit in him
because his leadership qualities just wake . work class concept comes to him few
year later as plant setup he change the routine he creates regular meetings with
subordinates ,any worker can come and cam talk to him ,even without
appointments. Now he was accessible to everyone as work going he comes to get
too many feedbacks even he comes to know that some of workers think that he is
too nice and could not hold the responsibility of an officer after ,noticing this he
changed his routine now he scold his employees for work not done appreciation was
given only to those who really work good. Then after few months he asked his
employees which approach is better ,,,,,,employees says that being a good boss is
good . as this creates a environment of belongingness and employees feel
themselves a s a part of the organization. THE concept of quality circles were
introduced in 1985 at VARDHAMAN he started 5S AND TPM in VARDHAMAN an
initiative taken by one of his chief engineer .

Over time, baddi operations grew to over 1000 crore investment and over 7000
employees.
In the whole note author wants to describe that life doesnt mean to get job or to
get money only but meaning of life is something different .
According to me ,life is a challenge every day every hour and every minute u r
facing a challenge of any kind its your approach to tackle situations here if I talk
about author he does not know anything about manufacturing but if he does not
take initiative then the future of vardhaman is not the same what it is today. Life
has very deeper meaning we should learn from our surrounding , from our mistakes,
and should nourish our self in better way . ready for takeoff means always prepare
for accepting new challenges because if ur not ready to take off u cannot survive in
this competitive world. There should be a friendly environment with the employees
a s author did but should not be too friendly so that it harms the image of business .
doing efforts surely gives success. But without doing effort u surely fail because you
did not take an initiative. This all the author wants to tell about life and experiences
