Setting of Ethernet address

IP address of CNC is half fixation with 192.168.1.(10+N) [range : 192.168.1.10
192.168.1.17], and an end N is set by the rotary switch. Meanwhile, IP address of
the PC must be made 192.168.1.200 fixation.
TCP port number 8193 and 8198 are used in CNC side. UDP port number 8197 is
used in PC side. (It is not necessary to set these port numbers manually.)
When the option parameter of Ethernet display function is not active, IP address
of CNC is fixed with 192.168.1.10.

NOTE
1. Please note the following points when you use Ethernet Display
function (including CNC Screen Display function via Embedded
Ethernet).
The update cycle of the screen is slower than a standard LCD
unit. The update cycle of the screen doesnt quicken more than
a standard LCD unit even if high-performance personal is used.
- The Ethernet Display function might be influenced sensitively
compared with a standard LCD unit when processing with a
load of high-speed and high-accuracy is done, and the update
cycle of the screen becomes slow.
2. Using Embedded Ethernet port of Stand-alone type CNC is
mandatory condition for Ethernet Display function.
3. When Ethernet display function is active, PCMCIA Ethernet card is
not available. When using FANUC LADDER-III and SERVO GUIDE,
use built-in port (The connector CD38A of the control unit for
Ethernet function).
4. Ethernet display function cannot be worked with Fast Ethernet
board.
5. In use of Ethernet display function, a PC over HSSB or a LCD unit
must be removed. If you want to use HSSB or a LCD unit, you must
install Graphic software.
6. Please select CPU and memory of a PC (including PANEL i) which
have enough performance or capacity to the number of connected
CNC or the load of application software using together. Pentium III
866MHz CPU or higher and 256MB memory or higher are
recommended when multiple CNCs are connected.
7. When using PANEL i, USB QWERTY MDI, FA full keyboard or the
general full keyboard is necessary. And please refer to Connection
manual of PANEL i for Ethernet display function (Technical
Report A-85131E)
8. The DHCP client function becomes unavailable automatically when
using Ethernet display function.

Connection of CNCs into network of a factory

PC1 connects to CNC1, CNC2 and CNC3 via HUB1, and PC2 connects to CNC4, CNC5 and
CNC6 via HUB2, as a display unit respectively.
Furthermore, if you want to communicate with PC3 located on the factory network, Fast
Ethernet board is necessary per each CNC. And PC3 should be connected to the option board
via another HUB3.

Fast Ethernet Board (192.168.2.20) (192.168.2.21) (192.168.2.22)

NOTE
The basic network construction of Ethernet display function should
consist of only CNCs and a PC for display. If the network equipment
such as other PC that is not the communication partner of CNC exists
on the same network, the communication-processing load of CNC
rises, and the refresh of display data might become slow.
So avoid connecting with the network at the whole factory. But, it will
be possible to connect other PCs that are configured as IP address
group of the above for the purpose of maintenance temporarily.

1.5

Choice of start-up sequence

By adjusting the rotary switch, the start-up sequence of CNC can be chosen as follows.
Normal operation: Position

0 (Function number 0)

In this start up, CNC waits for the establishment of the communication with the PC.
When the communication is established between PC and CNC, PC will display CNC normal
operation screen automatically (The boot and IPL screen is skipped, and they are not
displayed.)
Normal operation: Position

E (Function number E)

CNC does not wait for the establishment of the communication with the PC.
Thus, even if CNC cannot communicate with PC, it completes the start up sequence and goes
forward to normal operation stage.
If CNC connects with PC, CNC screen will be displayed according to CNC status in that time.
Maintenance operation: Position

F (Function number F)

CNC waits for the establishment of the communication with the PC.
After establishment, BOOT screen will appear on the PC.
NOTE
When the position of the rotary switch is 0 or F, CNC continues to
wait forever until establishing the communication with a PC, keeping
the boot state.
