For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Monday

Wednesday

Bible Reading: Luke 13:10-21; 1 Tim. 1:12-20; Proverbs 2; Ezra 3

Bible Reading: Luke 14:1-14; 1 Tim. 3:1-10; Proverbs 4; Ezra 6

Based on yesterdays passage (John 6:60-71) and Peters

confession, take some time to praise the Lord that Hes
chosen you to follow Him. Also, it is good to identify as
a follower of Christ, the area of your life where you are
tempted to ignore Christlikeness. Take some time to confess that to Him and to ask Him for grace to become like
Him in this area.

What you have heard from me in the presence of many

witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to
teach others also. 2 Tim 2:2
This verse is significant in how we think about the
Christian life. Here we see four generations of Christians
pouring into one another, passing on the truth, and fulfilling Jesus command to make disciples. We could call
this discipleship the act of making and supporting
other believers in their walk with Christ by teaching them
the words of Christ and helping them to walk in the truth.
When it comes to our walk with Christ, we a
re prone to
think only of ourselves a
s we read and study, listen and
grow, but Christ calls us to a life where we aim not to be
served, but to serve. Christ calls us to an others-focused
life. In 2 Tim 2:2, Paul challenges his son in the faith to
make and invest himself in his own children in the faith.
How ought this to look in your life? In whom are you
investing? In what way are you making disciples?

Tuesday

Thursday

Bible Reading: Luke 13:22-35; 1 Tim. 2; Proverbs 3; Ezra 4-5

Bible Reading: Luke 14:15-24; 1 Tim. 3:11-16; Proverbs 5; Ezra 7

Proverbs 4:7 says that the first thing to do in order to get

wisdom is to get wisdom. As a man or woman of God,
what sources of wisdom exist that you have not tapped
into (books, regular spiritual counsel from a godly person,
the wisdom of literature of Scripture)?

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things

that are on earth. Colossians 3:2
Some things will last forever. Some things will not. We
are regularly seeing, hearing, and touching things that
will not last. Our normal everyday existence is characterized by our interactions with things that are passing away.
When our senses are inundated constantly with temporary
things, we are tempted to see these things as primary.
But they are not, and we must learn to see past them with
eyes of faith to the things of primary significance which are
constantly lying just under the surface of all that we see
and do. Souls and Satan, eternity and evangelism, truth
and temptations, sins and salvation, love and lusts, kindness and commandments these are the things which
have eternal ramifications. Let them not be lost in a sea of
temporary distractions.
The things that last forever are not the things we see in
our everyday with our eyes. They are the things which
might be seen with eyes of faith. May the Lord Grant us a
spiritual sense for the eternal realities constantly surrounding us, just beyond our ability to see.
For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that
is to come. Hebrews 13:14
