Why IPYG?
By joining IPYG, our International Peace Youth Group, your organization will gain access to a variety of
tools specifically designed to help you make the biggest possible impact in your own community
including access to an international network of inspiring, proactive individuals and associations
superb event and project templates designed to help you create a positive change in your

Our Mission
The purpose of IPYG is to create positive and lasting change internationally through uniting major youth
associations around the world. We support of the development of their communities through all IPYG
youth setting the example in educating and motivating their nations active pursuit of peace.

Our Vision
IPYG aims to unite the youth of every nation, and pave the way to a peaceful future for our
world. We strive to do this through fostering a new culture of world peace, a heavenly culture
that will respect and embrace the beautiful diversity of humanity and restore faith in mankind.
Through a peaceful co-existence we can repay those who have shed their blood in countless
wars, and bring an end to the hundreds of wars that divide the nations of this world. IPYG will
walk this path of growth and change as one, united world youth.

The Memorandum of Understanding

One of the most exciting projects of 2013 is no doubt the drafting of a memorandum of understanding
(MOU) between the governments of the world whose purpose shall be to end all wars. And we need
your help. IPYG will stand together to uphold the standards of peace amongst ourselves, and strive
peacefully and respectfully to hold governments to honor their pledge to end wars.

The IPYG Summit

The most anticipated event for IPYG Affiliates are the IPYG Summits. These exciting events will be held
twice a year in the dynamic, bustling capital of South Korea, Seoul. All affiliated associations will be
invited to send two representatives to the summits at which youths from all affiliated groups will come
together and participate in networking activities, program development and other workshops and
seminars to enrich themselves and their communities. And of course we will have some serious fun!

The IPYG Newsletter

The IPYG newsletter will be published quarterly with spotlight articles highlighting the work being done by
Affiliated members in the name of peace, updates on the MOU and other newsworthy events in the IPYG
community. Written contributions will be accepted from all Affiliated members - everyone will have the
chance to shine!

Basic Principles of IPYG

Any individual or group affiliated to IPYG shall retain full autonomy, being governed by their own
constitution and by-laws. However, all Affiliates should at all times conduct themselves in such a way as
to further the good standing of IPYG within their community.
To this end the following principles shall be adhered to by any group wishing to be affiliated to IPYG. The
IPYG representative will be held accountable by The Organization to ensure that these principles are fully
implemented within the Affiliate.
The basic principles of IPYG are as follows:
1.

Any individual between the ages of 15 and 35 (youth), or youth organization is free to join
IPYG but shall commit to working towards world peace. All members shall conduct their
activities in a peaceful, lawful and respectful way.

2.

There shall be no discrimination against individuals or groups based on religion, gender,

political persuasion, sexuality, nationality, ethnicity, etc. within IPYG or its IPYG activities.

3.

Activities undertaken by any Affiliate member of IPYG shall in no way infringe upon or
impede any of the rights granted to an individual or group by the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights (UDHR) defined by the United Nations detailed at http://www.un.org/en/
documents/udhr/index.shtml .

How to join the IPYG community

1. Appoint your IPYG Representative
The first step you need to take is to choose one
person in your organization to be the International
Peace Youth Group (IPYG) Representative.
This Representative shall act as a partner within
the overall IPYG community, contributing to the
ongoing development of sustainable and effective
programs for IPYG members.
In order for this position to be truly effective in
facilitating a meaningful relationship between the
IPYG community and your organization, the IPYG
Representative should be one of the most senior
officers directly involved in your organizations
activities.
The IPYG Representative should be a key player
in the strategizing and implementation of
programs within your organization.
2. Fill out the application form
Please carefully complete the application form
and then read and sign the Affiliation agreement
(pp 5-12). This can be accomplished digitally
using Adobe Acrobat Reader. You may sign the
document using a new digital ID I want to create
now option by following the prompts. Also,
should you require further help please consult our
video tutorial.

5. What happens next?
The Organization will inform you of the decision
on your affiliation within one week of the receipt of
your application.
Once your affiliation has been confirmed, you will
receive a certificate confirming your affiliation to
IPYG. In the event that your application is not
successful all documentation will be destroyed
and deleted.

The Organization including information relating to IPYG and also information relating to The
Organizations other aliates, contacts and suppliers. Confidential Information shall not include any
information that is in the public domain or becomes publicly known through no fault of the receiving
party, or is otherwise properly received from a third party without an obligation of confidentiality.
Internal Rules means the internal rules which have been supplied to the Aliate and which may be
amended from time to time by The Organization for the proper performance of this Agreement.
IPYG Materials means any work or materials created by The Organization or the Aliate pursuant
to this Agreement.

2.
2.1

Formation of the Contract

These conditions shall form the basis of the agreement between the parties. These
conditions shall apply except so far as expressly agreed in writing by a person authorised to sign on
behalf of The Organization. No servant or agent of The Organization has the power to vary these
conditions orally.
2.2
The conditions in this Agreement are the only conditions upon which The Organization shall
deal with the Aliate and they shall govern the Agreement to the entire exclusion of all other terms
and conditions.

3.

The Organization and Aliate Obligations

3.1

The Organization shall use its best endeavours to carry out the obligations set out in the
Internal Rules.

3.2

The Aliate shall comply in all respects with the Internal Rules.

4.

Intellectual Property

4.1
All intellectual property rights produced from or arising as a result of the performance of this
Agreement and in the IPYG Materials shall become the absolute property of The Organization.
4.2
The Aliate authorizes The Organization to use its logo and other intellectual property on
promotional materials and otherwise for the proper performance of this Agreement.

5.

Force Majeure

The Organization shall not be liable for any failure to deliver or delay in carrying out its obligations
arising from circumstances outside its control, including but not limited to lock-outs, fire and
accidents.

6.

Duration, Termination and Consequences of Termination

6.1
This Aliation Agreement shall commence on the date The Organization communicates its
acceptance of the agreement to the Aliate and shall continue until one party gives to the other not
less than one months written notice.
6.2
The Organization may terminate this Agreement with immediate eect by providing written
notice to the Aliate if:
6.2.1

the Aliate commits any material or persistent breach of this Agreement;

6.2.2 the Aliate fails to or refuses after written warning to comply with the Internal Rules
or otherwise perform its obligations in accordance with this Agreement; or
6.2.3

6.3

the Aliate passes a resolution for winding up or ceases to exist.

Upon termination of this Agreement:

6.3.1 each party shall return or, at the disclosing partys request, destroy any confidential
information of the other party;
6.3.2 the Aliate shall permit The Organization (but at The Organizations sole option) to
continue to use the Aliates logo, or any intellectual property of the Aliate on IPYG
Materials printed or published or contemplated to be published for a period of 12 months;
and
6.3.3 subject to paragraph 6.3.2 neither party shall hold itself out as connected with the
other in any respect,
and provided herein all rights and obligations of each party under this Agreement shall
survive.

7.

General Provisions

7.1
This Agreement and the documents referred to herein contain the whole agreement between
the parties and supersede any previous agreement between them relating to the subject matter of
this Agreement, whether written or oral. The parties acknowledge that neither of them has relied
upon any representation, written or oral, of any person but only as expressly set out in the
Agreement.

7.2
The Aliate shall hold and maintain in strict confidence all Confidential Information, shall not
disclose Confidential Information to any third party, and shall not use any Confidential Information
except as may be necessary to perform its obligations under this Agreement except as may be
required by a court or governmental authority.

The Aliate may not assign, sub-license or sub-contract the Agreement or any of its rights
or obligations hereunder without the prior written consent of The Organization.
7.4
If any provision of the Agreement is declared by any judicial or other competent authority to
be illegal, void, voidable or otherwise unenforceable, or indication of the same is received by either
of the parties from any relevant competent authority, such provision shall be deemed severed from
the Agreement and the remaining terms of the Agreement shall remain in full force and eect.
7.5
Any notice to be served on the other party shall be sent by recorded delivery, registered
post, e-mail or fax. Notices sent by registered post or recorded delivery shall be deemed to be
served within 72 hours of posting, and by e-mail or fax within 24 hours if sent to the correct e-mail or
fax address of the addressee.
7.6
This Agreement is governed by and is to be construed in accordance with the laws of the
Republic of Korea.
