Fundraising and Development


Purpose of role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated fundraiser to play a pivotal
role in the growth of a leading national Non-Profit Organization working in the field of politics
and policy formulation. MY Parliament is seeking a dedicated and capable fundraiser who will be
responsible for developing and delivering on the overall fundraising strategy of the organisation,
supplementing existing grant funding with funding from individuals, corporates, grant-makers and
other sources.
The post will involve working remotely with occasional meetings with the Executive Team.
Regular communication will be via email, Skype and telephone.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver a comprehensive and coherent fundraising strategy for the
organization
Set and achieve realistic time-limited fundraising targets, agreed in consultation with key
staff
Create a sustainable and diverse fundraising portfolio, with funding streams including
individuals, major gifts, corporates, community, events, trusts/foundations and other grantmakers, with appropriate priorities
Carry out prospect research and develop a comprehensive fundraising database that
captures all relevant information, as well as handling all administrative aspects of
fundraising
Develop standardized fundraising and publicity materials for awareness and fundraising
Continually seek new and appropriate contacts and partnerships with relevant individuals
or organizations
Lead communication with key donors and funders with the aim of cultivating, growing and
sustaining long-term funding and collaboration
Ensure reporting to funders is accurate, transparent and timely
Liaise with the Director of Operations to ensure the organizations cash flow and financial
sustainability through careful budgeting, realistic fundraising targets and coordinating
timely access to funds from supporters

Requirements:

Excellent planning, time management and organizational abilities


Highly motivated and able to work independently to agreed goals and targets and take
ownership of the overall fundraising programme of the organization
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a small close-knit team
Able to work under pressure, meeting key project and reporting deadlines
Commitment to confidentiality and respect for patient anonymity where appropriate
Good organizational and project management skills
The ability to motivate others and work as part of a team
Sensitivity to the needs of volunteers and donors
A willingness to carry out a range of administrative tasks

Qualifications: Candidates for this role would be expected to possess the following experience
and qualifications:

A strong track record of securing funding for charitable or NGO activities from a variety
of funding streams
A strong portfolio of communication and awareness-raising materials
Excellent personal contacts and connections with potential major donors and supporters
A relevant qualification in fundraising (desirable)
