FROM YOUR PASTOR

Mike Northcutt - ebc@eastmont.org

Do you remember how you learned the ABCs? For

many it was the ABC song. That is also true for
learning Gods Word. Childrens Choirs are a powerful
way to train our children.
Some children are more gifted in music than others.
I was not one of those. I took piano lessons for about
three months. I was so bad the teacher quit! I sang a
solo once in elementary school. Afterward a classmate
tried to cheer me up by saying It wasnt as bad as it
sounded!
In spite of my little talent, music has shaped my life
for the better. I learned to praise God through song.
I cant count the number of Bible truths Ive learned
through music. And getting along with others is
essential when in a choir. Children may not become
musicians, but they will always be able to praise God
from their hearts through music. Why? Because
you taught them to do so when they were young.
Childrens choir enrollment is this month. Give them a
blessing that will guide them all their life.
Its an election year and you will probably like this
story. A politician was riding on a train. Im going to
throw this $5 bill out the window and make somebody
happy. One of his supporters suggested. Why not
throw five $1 bills out and make five people happy?
Then a critic said Why dont you jump out and make
everybody happy. It is impossible to please everyone
and you will go crazy trying. But this church is one of
the best places to serve Christ and fellowship together.
Here is a great quote: If you pray only when you are
in trouble, then you really are in trouble.
God is a proud parent and you are His child. I believe
nothing brings greater joy to God, than when one of
His children steps out on faith and helps someone in
need.

Ill see you Sunday,
