Dear, Mx. McFarland

ashamed to be vrriting this letter fioday as I am already one

day past the date set when you wished to have all material in. Things
have been very rushed here this summer, and as there doesn't seem to be

much in the way of news to write this letter has been one of the
easiest matters to let slip by.

During the past year to has been more difficilt than usual to ^

interest those who are outside of the church.

The only

this being the work with the teen-age young people.

exception to

The past year has

been the best for this grouo of any time sine we have have here.

The month of July is being a full month for us.

Anne Chapman, Vulcan,

Alberta conducted a D.V.B.S school for 2 weeks.

The average attendance

v/as about 26. The Lawrence Laymsns, Muse, Oklahoma, are leading in
evangelistic meetings at present.

These conclude tonight.

So far no

one has accented Christ, and we have not been able to reach many who

are outside of Christ to r^et them to the meetings, but there are a
few young people who are thinking very seriously and we pray that even
yet they will make the decision and have courage to step out for Christ,
On the 26th we go to ^camp.

Both Anne Chapman and the Laymans vdll b: e

there for that, as well as the John Balls and Harry Mathesons.

letter from Doroth

Sterling last night

stated that she was still

hoping to get the necessary papers in orrer to come up into Canada

and be with us.

This concentrated effort is being very heloful to

of us in the

church here, and although we would very much like to see some come
to Christ we feel that it has been worthwhile.

In meetings held last fall with Gilbert Cays there were 3 baptisms*
The people of the district seemed more inclined to attend at that time

but the conclusion of the meetings was disrupted to quite an eytant

by cold,snowy weather*

When we entered into this work in Saskatchewan we intended to keep in

touch with the Christians scattered throughout the province and be of
any help we could'to them through visits, special meetings, etc.. It

was thought best to center our main work in one place though and Big
River was selected as the place for this. With it being necessary to
take up secular work in Big River to support ourselves we have not

been able to do justice to the work here without going into other

districts.

There is still a great need for this. Few place^in

Saskatchewan have the simple N*T* message proclaimed.

On the whole

the peoi)2ie are not inclined to accent such a message, but we must see
that it goes forth. The work has gone ahead during the past few years
and we must see that it continues.

At present I am working for the Timber Board at piling lumber or in

their planing mill. I was able to get a week off itt to help in the

meetings and prepare for camp, but will not get to camp. Union regnilt-

ations make it necessary *o work when there is work to do although

there are some lay offs during the year. However, under the present

set up we are not too much in need of financial help.

If we could

count on helo in the amount of at least $100. a month from outside

sources all our time could he scent in the work.

This is rather an bhrupt ending but there is only 10 minutes left to

get this into the mAil.

Sincerely in Christ,

Ralph Whitrow.
