FCE cascading mode is adopted to connect auxiliary cabinet to BBUB.

Benefit
Impact to end

FCE cascading mode is adopted to connect an auxiliary cabinet with BBUB when the auxiliary

user

cabinet is required, but there is no RC cabinet nearby or RC cabinet doesn't have enough
space for RSU.

Impact to the

The FCE cascading mode is adopted to connect an auxiliary cabinet with BBUB. Old devices

operator

can be put in the auxiliary cabinet, and the auxiliary cabinet provides the function to monitor
and manage temperature and dry contacts.

Involved

eBBUB

System
Description

When an operator reuses old devices such as battery and transmission devices, he wants
space for these old devices. However if a main cabinet doesn't have enough space for these
old devices, an auxiliary cabinet must be used. And the auxiliary cabinet must support the
function to monitor and manage temperature and dry contracts.
To manage the auxiliary cabinet, FCE management is the key issue. How to manage FCE, the
key point is to implement communication between FCE board and BBU-CC via a link.
FCE cascading mode is a solution to connect main cabinet to auxiliary cabinet.

Benefit

within operating band, analyze the spectrum to find interference source. It supports GSM,
UMTS and hybrid GU modes.
The purpose of PIM test is to detect the quality of RRU's antenna.
Benefits: The maintenance operator needn't approach RRU site. What he can do is to stay at
an equipment room and visit BBU via EDMS. The EDMS provides a function for him to view
receiving spectrum and PIM test sitaution within RRU's operating band. After analysis, he can
detect and solve interference and antenna problems.
The spectrum scanning precision is 20KHz bandwidth.
Receiving signal sensitivity is high (-130 to -50dBm@20KHz).The uplink signals within the
scaning range can even be detected.

Description

Working principle is described as follow: change the receiving center frequency of RRU, sample
IQ data and report the sampled IQ data to LMT. LMT adopts fourier transform algorithm to
calculate energy value of every 20KHz bandwidth. Based on the calculated energy, LMT draws
receiving spectrum of a duplexer within operating band.

Description

Confidential

A temperature alarming function must be added for an auxiliary cabinet. The purpose is to
monitor the working environemnt of a microwave or a 3rd party device and to guarantee
suitable working temperature for devices. The alarming function reports high temperature alarm
and low temperature alarm with default limits being 55oC and -20oC respectively. Of course,
the two limits can be changed from OMCB/LMT. The temperature of an auxiliary cabinet is
sensed from FCE5 air outlet because this temperature is equivalent to environmental
temperature of the cabinet. When the sensed temperature exceeds high temperature limit, a
high-temperature alarm is reported. However when the sensed temperature is lower than low
temperature limit, a low-temperature alarm is reported. In other case, the alarm is recovered.

Known Issues
In ATM working mode, master/slave changeover only supports cold changeover, not
hot changeover.
PMS performance measurement shows only the result of samples so that
measurement time may be discontinuous.
Current release doesnt support MBMS for the moment.
To switch from IPOE1 mode to ATMOE1, operation sequence must be: first delete
PPP; then reset single board; at last configure ATM mode. If not following the
sequence, there may be some problems. For example, single board may reset, or
transport link may be interrupted.
Up to 20 IP parameters can be configured.
If either rack name or Node B description contains a special character like &, LMT
cannot be accessed after Node B reset.
RSU82 has unstable DPD performance, which causes downlink index to exceed
standard level. It is not recommended to use this version in RSU82 900M, 1800M
and 2.1G.
Address abnormity happens during master/slave changeover operation. This
possibility is very small. Once it happens, QE is hung and transmission is
interrupted.

SW Upgrading & Rollback

Influence due to Release Upgrading

When upgrading from previous to the current version, it will break current voice call and
PS session for a while. After the version is uploaded, the time of version switching will be
controlled in 15 minutes. So ZTE recommends the upgrading should be done in the
lowest traffic phase.
