The Kotl continued their lives in their underground city, until the last blow was struck against
them. The Myrmidex returned, and despite the best efforts of the Kotl, drove their creators from
their underground city. The fleeing Kotl sealed the city, but retained a key, which could be used
to open the entrance should a return become possible. Over time, the Kotl regressed to the same
level as their former servants, becoming the Sakkhra, just one more tribe in the valley.
Over the years, the tribes clashed and battled, not realising that the Myrmidex were slowly
becoming stronger and more numerous. The events of the past became mere legends, and faded
from the memories of all but a few tribesmen.
Time passed, until small fragments of a strange substance were discovered in a Central American
archaeological dig. A geologist named Johann Spector examined them, and accidentally
triggered a Moongate, transporting himself and one of his assistants into the Valley. Spector, by
using the small fragments of the black stone, was able to enter the Kotl city, and study the
mechanisms therein. Unbeknownst to him however, the radiation was affecting his mind. Soon
Spector was a megalomaniac, intent upon his plans to conquer the world, using the Myrmidex as
his army. He had discovered a means of rendering himself and whoever else he chose
invulnerable, concentrating energy from the city into a force field about him.
The tampering of Spector caused greater instability in the black stone. The shifting energies
attracted attention from several unexpected sources. The entity Xorinia, always desirous of
obtaining new information, sent Wisp units to observe the apparently imminent destruction of a
world by the energies of the black stone. And the King of a distant reality, foreseeing the danger
to the world of his birth, sent a warning to his land's greatest champion, the Avatar.
The Shamans of the tribes can call upon the various spirits which dwell within the valley by
using specific rituals and making specific offerings. While the totems that the Shaman with the
party can call upon are known, it is harder to know where to obtain the offerings when the
Shaman's supplies are exhausted.
Fortunately Kunaro, the Shaman of the Pindiro, will trade five flax for enough of any offering to
allow a ritual to be performed once.
The tar is used on cloth strips to produce tarred strips, which are vital components in the
construction of both torches and grenades.
Hide Mats: By using a knife on any slain mammal, it is possible to cut it up for food. However, if
the slain animal is a Sabre-Toothed Tiger, a beautiful hide can be obtained. This hide can be used
to construct a huge drum.
Crystals: The Healing crystals are one of the benevolent creations of the Kotl. When used they
completely heal any injuries or poisoning that the target suffers from. Unfortunately they are
quite heavy.
The Giant Crystal: When the Kotl abandoned their underground city and sealed the passageway
leading to it, they retained a key, which when used correctly would reopen the passage. The
Giant Crystal was to be placed within a focus device placed on a mesa above the entrance to the
city, where it would focus the noon light on a receptor below, causing the door to open.
The native tribesmen of the Valley of Eodon have a variety of useful weapons designed for both
hunting and combat. They also have armour designed for protection during the same endeavours.
The most useful and effective of these weapons and types of armour are listed here.
Obsidian Swords: The obsidian sword is the most effective native close combat weapon. They
can be purchased in Tichticatl, or found on bodies in the Spider Cave.
Spears: A spear can be both thrown and used in close quarters combat. It is relatively common in
the Valley.
Atl-atls: The atl-atl is a simple spear thrower, increasing both the range and damage caused by a
spear.
Bow and Arrows: The bow and arrow is useful as it adds a distance component to the armament
of a party. In a combat against some of the larger predators this can mean the difference between
life and death.
Spear of Shamap: This weapon is the invention of an insane Disquiqui warrior. Produced by
attaching a flask of the substance Plachta to a spear, this weapon can be thrown to act as a
tranquilliser against any living creature in the Valley - even a Tyrannosaurus Rex. The Disquiqui
actually drink the Plachta for refreshment!
Leather Armour: Readily found in the Valley, leather armour is the best protection available for
combat.
Stegosaurs Shields: This is the best shield available to the natives. They are made from the bony
back plate of a stegosaurs.
Mortars and Grinding Stones: Either one of these is required by the natives to grind corn into
flour. For an explorer, they are more useful to grind up the chemical components of gunpowder.
Other than the aforementioned Pindiro shaman Kunaro, there are two people in the Valley of
Eodon who are willing to trade. Both are Nahuatla, and can be found in the city of Tichticatl.
Atlipacta: This woman is the best maker of native weaponry and armour in the entire Valley. She
accepts Emeralds in exchange for her stock.
Bows: 2 Emeralds each
Arrows: 1 Emerald per 12 arrows
Obsidian Knives: 1 Emerald each
Obsidian Swords: 3 Emeralds each
Leather Armour: 3 Emeralds each
Leather Shields: 1 Emerald each
Paxaptamac: Paxaptamac is a practitioner of the ancient craft of using feathers for clothing and
decoration. Due to the recent completion of a major project, he is short of stock and will give 1
Emerald for every 10 parrot feathers he is given.

Each number indicated on the preceding map is listed above, with the meaning of the number.
Note that the notation is not entirely complete, to allow the map to be easily read. All necessary
locations are shown, but other sources of raw materials found in the valley may exist.
The numbers used indicate physical locations that are important for some reason. The letters
indicate teleporter pads, where Teleporter A shown on the map leads to Teleporter A shown in
the Teleporter Plaza.

The Native Villages (Map Locations 1, 2, 10, 18, 19, 20, 33, 35)
Most tribes in the Valley live in villages, conglomerations of huts built of woven bamboo and
grass. The chiefs of the tribes rarely travel far from their home villages. The natives of a
particular village usually know about the local resources.
are also weapons used during the fall of the city, and the main generators, which still draw power
from the black stone in the Myrmidex tunnels.
Movement within the city is facilitated by teleport plates. There is a group at the centre of the
city which lead to counterpart plates near the city edges. There are also other linked pairs within
the city.
Finding Friends
In order to complete the mission, the help of Jimmy Malone and Professor Rafkin is essential.
Jimmy records the tasks required in his notebook, while Rafkin knows the location of his lab,
and can give instructions on the manufacture of grenades and rifles. If he is not in the party, not
possible to identify Potassium Nitrate in the caves.
Rafkin is to the east of the Kurak village, in the village of the Yolaru, who call him the
Schweitzer. He has some useful equipment in his hut, including scissors, a metal hammer, and a
vine rope.
Jimmy is a captive in the village of the Disquiqui. He has been sentenced to a fate worse than
death - marriage to the chief's daughter, Guoblum. He will be most relieved to be released.
Once the blue stone is obtained and taken to him, Topuru will swallow it. He can then reveal the
location of the cavern leading to the Urali homeland, the second cave from the north, to the east
of the Yolaru village.
Topuru will also give some turtle bait, which is useful for water travel in the Urali swamps.
The T-rex will no longer attack the Avatar and his party.
Aiela is imprisoned in a cave to the south of the Urali village.
Before attempting to complete the tasks set by the chiefs, the above list of tools should be
assembled. Grenade and torch construction procedures are listed under their respective entries
above.
The princess of the Barako tribe, a teenager named Halisa, has been kidnapped by a
gigantopithicus, and taken up a mountainside to a high plateau. The Queen of the tribe, Halawa,
will unite with the other tribes if her daughter can be rescued from the giant ape.
Along the road leading north from the Barako village there is a ford crossing a stream. By
following the south bank of the stream until it turns north and stops at a waterfall, a small cave is
reached. Access to the cave is blocked by the flow of the waterfall.
Above the waterfall there is a huge boulder. By attacking the boulder with a grenade, if the
correct location is chosen the boulder can be blasted onto the stream, cutting off the waterfall.
This allows access to the underground tunnel leading up onto the ape's plateau.
Upon reaching the plateau, the party must deal with a large, hostile gigantopithicus. Once this
problem is eliminated, the party must head further south on the plateau to find Halisa. Once she
has been told that she can go home, her mother Halawa will agree to unite the Barako with the
other tribes.
Just to the south of the ford, a warrior named Shamaru waits. He will join if he is asked. He is the
double of Shamino.
Chafblum will provide some Plachta for the spear. The annoying T-rex is along the road east
from the Disquiqui village. Once the spear is used and the bell on the T-rex, the Disquiqui will
unite with the other tribes.
Apaton, the chief of the Yolaru, has a shortage of good weaponry. In order to persuade him to
unite the Yolaru with the other tribes, he must be provided with ten Nahuatla obsidian swords.
There are Nahuatla swords on some bodies in the spider cave. By using the emeralds from the
Jukari cave, trading parrot feathers for emeralds, it is possible to buy enough swords to make
Apaton's quota.
While on top of the Great Mesa, a trip to the northernmost point on the mesa is required. Above
the cliff there is a crystal holder. Placing the Giant Crystal, given to Aiela by Darden, in the
holder opens the trap door leading into the Kotl city at Map Location 30.
Once the trap door is open, the root can be returned to Balakai, so that he will agree to join the
union of tribes.
the teleporter and go through the other pads in your new location to get the equipment you need.
While not essential, the Locator makes locating the Moonstone in the Myrmidex caves easier.
There are also gas canisters and healing crystals scattered throughout the city.
Once the Locater has been collected it is best to take Katalkotl's directions to visit the generators.
The easier route is blocked by Zipactriotl, who is very surprised to find that others have managed
to enter the city.
At the generators, there is a control console. Destroying this shuts the generators off, and renders
the city powerless. This removes the force field protecting Huitalpacti, who is killed by his own
people, who restore Moctapotl to his throne. It also kills Yunapotli.
The removal of the force field from around Spector allows his brain to resume it's normal
function, restoring his sanity. Johann joins the party. He has much information which is
important to the survival of the Valley of Eodon.
Once the Myrmidex Queen is reached, she must be killed in order to reach the corrupted Black
Moonstone. Once the Moonstone is reached, it must be destroyed, preferably with distance
weapons.
The destruction of both the Queen and Moonstone drives the remaining Myrmidex insane,
allowing an easy exit as the Myrmidex destroy themselves. The Valley of Eodon, and indeed the
entire Earth, have been saved.
