Lesson Plan No.

____
August 1, 2016

I. Objectives:
1. Reinforce important concepts
2. Use the knowledge acquired to answer questions
3. Decide with confidence
II. Subject Matter: Assessment Day
Focus: Patterns of Inheritance and DNA
A. Science Concepts/Ideas:
1. Chromosomes, composed of DNA and protein, control the hereditary
information for a cell except during cell division, when they are distributed.
2. The entire complement of ones chromosomes, arranged in an orderly
manner, is the karyotype of that individual.
3. DNA is a complex molecule coding for amino acid sequences in proteins
with triplets of nucleotides in the DNA.
4. A nucleotide is a segment of a nucleic acid. It is composed of a five-carbon
sugar, a phosphate group, and an organic nitrogen-containing base.
B. Output: A carefully answered test, applying learned concepts in genetics.
C. Materials:
Pen and paper
References:

Science LM
III. Procedure:
A. Preparatory Activity:
1. Greetings.
2. Sitting arrangement.
3. Giving of instructions.
B. Developmental Activities:
1. Each item will be posted for 30-seconds, after 30 seconds the next question will
appear.
2. If time permits, the test item will be posted again until only 5 minutes is left for
checking of papers.
C. Post Activities:
1. Checking of papers
2. Announcing of scores
IV. Evaluation:
1. Another name for a fertilized egg is ________________.
A. chromatid
B. allele
