Makunudu is a small island resort with "no news no shoes concept" with an intimate setting.

Resort consists of 36 bungalows, all facing the


sea. Mainly European clientele, German, British, French, Italian and also some Japanese and Russian. The island is popular for many repeat
guests returning year after year. Being a small island the staff team is built upon a family atmosphere whereby staff approach to guest
services is personal and friendly.

POSITION: IT Officer
PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS
a)

Knowledge, skills and attitudes


i.
Knowledge of troubleshooting computer operational issues, computer viruses and security, email and internet programs.
ii.
Hands-on person with the ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networks.
iii.
Self-starter who excels in time management.
iv.
Results-oriented with a strong business acumen. Ability to develop and implement new strategies to promote efficiency,
profitability, and customer satisfaction.
v.
Mature and ability to work independently.
vi.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, including active listening skills and ability to effectively
communicate findings and recommendations.
vii.
Versatility to manage a diverse range of managerial responsibilities.
viii.
Keen attention to detail and timeliness.
ix.
Skilled Communicator with strong presentation skills and good report writing.
x.
Flexibility in workplace and working hours. Able to work a flexible work schedule as the hours for this management position will
vary.
xi.
Understanding of the capabilities and constraints of technology and resource implications in terms of budgets, and manage
change management when the Company goes through business process re-engineering.

b)

Qualifications
I.
Degree in Information Technology. Understanding of business and management principles.
II.
Good Knowledge and experience in computer hardware and software systems and programs maintenance, and network
administration and installation. Good experience in network IT, Microsoft software and Windows exchange server, Sun System,
SAP system, LAN trouble shooting, antivirus software etc.
III.
Technical expertise and familiarity with hotel management systems, such as Opera/Fidelio, Micros POS and Materials Control
Software, HR Payroll and Accounting software (eg. Stomxpert HR System, Tour Management System, Albatross and
Peachtree).
IV.
Computer literacy in internet, e-mail and MS office is a must.
V.
Fluent in English.
Work Experience
I.
Candidate must have extensive managerial experience in a IT department within a hospitality setting, with working
experience of not less than 5 years work experience as a IT Officer/Manager in a Hotel/ Resort Organization, specifically with
proven track record in managing change management when organization goes through business process re-engineering,
that entails re-designing the way work is done so that the organisations goal is met and costs are reduced.
II.
Good Knowledge and experience in network IT, Microsoft software and Windows exchange server, Sun System, SAP system,
LAN trouble shooting, antivirus software etc.
III.
A positive reference from previous superiors, peers and subordinates.
IV.
Information technology management experience in cultural diversity.
