EXPERIENCE
2/11 - Present Universal Science and Technology
Self-Employed. Worked on combined 2-project proposal for the National
Science Foundation for brain research by invitation. Developed a novel
voice cloning algorithm using FFTs in C++ and VB.net. Currently writing
an autobiography (was previously represented by a top Hollywood literary
agent.)
5/10 - 2/11

Rockwell Collins, Cedar Rapids, IA

Verification and validation of DO-178B avionics software and Flight
Management System (FMS.) Performed requirements analysis using
DOORS and ClearQuest, wrote test scripts for FMS, debugged FMS Ada
source code and documented requirement deficiencies.

4/09 5/09

Boeing Corporation, Huntsville, AL

Consultant, Border Security Project Demonstration (SBInet.) Hired
specifically to insure that the entire system worked. Knew by lunchtime
on the first day that the system was not going to work due to lack of a
Kalman filter.

12/08 - 3/09

Kearfott Guidance & Navigation, Little Falls, NJ

Responsible for integration of NMEA GPS into the navigation system

(Ada/TMS320C31 DSP) for an unmanned robotic ground vehicle being

developed for border security applications. Real-time
Ada/Tartan/TMS320C31 DSP/Unix development platform.
7/08 11/08

L-3 Com/Link Simulation, Arlington, TX

Debugged flight software (Ada, C, OpenGL) on a Linux platform for the
multipurpose helicopter training simulator for the Army Aviation Combined
Arms Tactical Trainer (AVCATT) program. Responsibilities included
writing and executing test plans and maintaining software in a
Clearquest/Clearcase environment.

2007

Self employed
Submitted DoD proposals under the Small Business Innovative Research
Program (SBIR.) Submitted a Navy proposal for long-term energy
harvesting for an ocean buoy (i.e., P3 sonobuoy). Also submitted an
Army proposal for collision avoidance for small unmanned air vehicles
incorporating artificial intelligence.

2001 - 2006

ITT Industries, Patrick AFB, FL

Software Engineer. Responsibilities included performing a complete
technical analysis of the security, vulnerabilities, and auditing capabilities
of a large scale Unix-based (AIX) system. Found a major vulnerability in
the system and put it in my report, along with the means to mitigate the
problem.
Co-developed automated Fortran-to-C++ translator (F2Cpp.) This was
used to translate numerous legacy Fortran programs (generating true
object oriented C++ source code) for porting to a modern Linux server.
Developed 60-bit classes to fully emulate CDC Cyber hardware.
Translator also generated complete code documentation in HTML format,
including class member documentation and calling trees. Developed
associated GUI in VB6 and Qt (for Unix/Linux/Windows cross-platform
capability.) $6 million contract awarded by the government based on the
translator tool. Co-inventor on ITT patent, US 7,240,338 Computer
language translation system and method of converting procedural
computer language software to object-oriented computer language
software.

1999 - 2001

Pneumagic
Self Employed. Designed accessories for a segment of the sports and
recreation industry. Performed all aspects of product design and
development including analog/digital, mechanical, and pneumatic design,
board layout, fabrication, and microcontroller software development.
Other responsibilities included coordination of vendors and

manufacturers, as well as web design, advertising, and online sales.

Licensed one electronic product design to an outside company.
1989 - 1999

Boeing/McDonnell Douglas, Huntington Beach, CA

Lead software engineer on a variety of electro-optical systems dealing
with image processing, surveillance, automatic target recognition and
tracking. Lead engineer on the Improved Mast Mounted Sight (IMMS) for
the Army OH-58D helicopter, capable of tracking 6 targets simultaneously,
and incorporating target-recognition (ATR) and motion detection
algorithms. Received company award (financial) for successfully winning
DARPA contract, with follow-on Army contract.
Involved in all aspects of the MMS project life cycle, including concept
definition, proposal, requirement specifications, system design,
simulation, software/algorithm development, as well as field testing of the
final system at Yuma.
Developed software for a multi-spectral camera flown on the U2 aircraft
and running the Motorola RTOS. Responsible for in-flight testing on U2
at Skunk Works facility.
Lead software engineer in the development of an aerial imaging system
incorporating wavelet compression for real-time acquisition and storage of
digital imagery. Extensive development using VxWorks on a dual PowerPC system connected to PC control computer. Debugged an unknown
problem in the Board Support Package which was limiting data
bandwidth. Developed GUI for controlling the video acquisition system
via laptop PC using Visual Basic, C/C++, Win32 API, and SQL, along with
the TCP/IP interface.
Developed communications software for a man portable GPS
receiver/transmitter for handling encrypted data using High-Level Data
Link Control (HDLC) protocol. System demonstrated the ability to track
the location of vehicles and small troop detachments anywhere in the
world.

1984 - 1989

Ford Aerospace, Newport Beach, CA

Sr. Engineer. Developed real-time image processing software for several
airborne targeting systems, including the F/A-18 FLIR. Supported flight
testing at China Lake.

1980 - 1984

McDonnell Douglas, Huntington Beach, CA

Engineer. Guidance and Controls Group. Responsible for maintaining
the flight program and launch checkout software as well as performing
test and checkout procedures and post-flight data reduction for the Delta
rocket.
