his dominant attitude, rudeness, and authoritarian approach. Some of Davids
members have been with a request to change their teams.
a. What do you think Keith should do to help Davids team members?
b. How can Keith help David get close with his team and resolve the
issue?
2. Illegal drugs have been one of the main problems of our society that our
present administration is trying to suppress. President Rodrigo Duterte and
different government agencies are now working hand-in-hand to try to follow the
three to six month time frame in controlling and to counter illegal drugs. President
Duterte has now directed the AFP to help other illegal drug enforcing agency to
suppress the situation. As part of the military workforce:
a. How would you use the concepts of Human Resource Management to
help law enforcing agencies in advocating the campaign of the present
administration to suppress illegal drug activities in the country?
b. Explain your strategy and concept of operation.

1. It is very important to address the issue first by acknowledging the presence of

a conflict. Understanding the situation helps in creating solution to the problem.
Keith should listen first to the concerns of the members and make reassurance
that the issue will be resolved. (will not be ignored)

Second, He should approach David In a calm and respectful manner maintaining

a non-biased environment. He must listen to Davids side of the story to visualize
both pictures and make a clear view of the situation.

At the time the two sides of the stories have been identified, collaborative efforts
must be done to refocus the issue and redirect to the much bigger picture, the
mission of the team. Both parties should set aside personal issues. Hence,
compromising a little is needed to gain much more. These are just sure ways to a
successful and lasting management of conflict.

2. Recently, the president of the Republic of the Philippines has announced in his
SONA that he would like the AFP to help act on fight against illegal drugs.

In tapping the AFP to help suppress illegal drugs, one might need a special joint
task force in order for the AFP to properly react on the matter. This task force will
be composed of officers, enlisted personnel and civilian employees who will work

as a team with a purpose to eliminate if not totally eradicate the operations of

illegal drugs in the country.

The whole program in the AFP would require manpower from the main body of
the task force in the strategic level down to the assets in the streets. The
composition of the task force will include police and military officers who will lead
the operation. There will be researchers, physicians, computer programmers,
social workers and psychologist who will have their functions in the task force.

The task force will work hand-in-hand with the PNP counterparts in matters of
intelligence and manhunt list. Meanwhile, continues random drug testing of
different units in the AFP must be in effect as often as it requires.

Different JTF installation posts must be placed to areas infested with illegal drugs
until such time that the area is already free of it. Also, along with installations are
establishment of rehabilitation centers to cater for drug addicts in the place so
that caring for them is a collaborative effort of all the members in that particular
community.
