A-1 Choral Responding: can help character stay on task, and respond to

questions that are asked by teacher to ensure understanding. (Boy Scout

to go next, what particular animals were being pointed at, etc.)
A-2 Journaling: can help character establish communication with teacher
or leader in what is expected of them, or things that they may be
confused about. (Boy Scouts have to write to their troop leader every
night about anything they like, maybe something that happened that day,
other scouts they witnessed being a true leader.)

B) Altered Speech or speech patterns/

B-1 ONEder Application: can help character respond to one-word

May use sign language

questions or voice their opinion in times of need. (Boy Scout will be able
to use the app to point to pictures to answer simple questions when he
doesnt feel like speaking in front of the entire pack.)
B-2 Communication Board: can help character communicate with his
classmates and teacher, by pointing to visuals of pictures of materials
being used at that time. (Boy Scout is able to use communication board to
express to his fellow troop members the items needed in order to
prepare the dinner for that night.)

A) Problems understanding social cues

A-1 Charades: can help character to match facial expression, body


language, and gestures to feelings that he/she may be feeling or their
fellow classmates. Students are able to put a feeling with a definition and
understand it for a later date. (After scout troop get tired of each other,
troop leader will have troop members play charades with certain
emotions and feelings so they can all see what they look like on each
other and recognize it for the rest of the camping trip.)


A-2 PALS: can help character know when it is their time to speak and their
time to listen to their partner. (Boy Scout will have a PAL that will first
read the map and give their opinion on which way to go, and then it will
be his turn.)
B) Isolation / Missing out on peer

B-1 Collaborative-Learning Groups: Character is able to learn something

interactions

new from classmates when faced with a certain problem or situation.


(Boy Scout doesnt know how to set up tent, and receives assistance from
another boy scout to complete his tent.)
B-2 Games in Education: Character is able to become a part of the class
through games that are assigned by the teacher to help students learn
things together. (Boy Scout will play an outdoor game to become part of
the class instead of exploring on his own.

Behavior / Organization
A) Misses cues of activity change

A-1 Timer/Special Hand Signals: can help character know when everyone
is done with one task and moving on to another. The teacher or student
will keep a timer, either on their phone or another device, to allow the
teacher to notify the student when it is time to transition to another
activity. Or they could have a particular signal between teacher and
student, specifically. (Boy Scout will have a special signal with troop
leader to ask how much longer for a particular activity or when a
particular activity will be over.)
A-2 Response Cards: Character will be able to let speaker or teacher know
they are with the rest of the class, and know exactly what to do next or
where to go next. (Boy Scout lets the Scout leader know he is ready to
move on to next hiking spot with response cards; Boy Scout will also be
able to raise card when he knows the answer to a particular question the
leader has asked of the scouts, or when he is confused about a situation.)

B) Withdrawn from the task at hand or

B-1 Music, Movement, and Rhythm: Character will be more involved in

activity

overall lesson by being able to move around and explore their


surroundings versus being glued to one desk. (Boy Scout is able to search
for particular artifact on the campsite during an exploration, learning
things for himself instead of listening to the leader the entire time during
exploration time.)

B-2 Team Building: Character will become more familiar with classmates
allowing him to be more comfortable to express his opinion and learn
more from others. (Boy Scout will be resistant to make friends with troop
members until the Scout Leader include all in a team building activity.)
