If practicable, gather the Ps on the floor facing the board. Maybe 2-3
rows.
Talk about the topic, e.g. pets / farm animals (or whatever the topic is
about) and ask simple questions.
Write on the board any vocabulary the Ps need to know. Work out the
meaning (a bit of BM is ok, if necessary) this is separate to the
flashcards and might be adjectives or adverbs that are difficult to find
pictures for.
Present and activate the vocabulary flashcards. (animals in the story)
See if they can predict what the story might be about.

There are Pets and
Zarif and his friends are having a snack in the canteen.
Zarif:
Hey Paven, do you have a pet?
Paven:
Sure I do Zarif, Ive got a chicken.
All: A chicken? Why?
Paven:
Why not? A chicken gives us meat and eggs.
All: Oh yes, that is a good idea.
Mei Lou: How about you Zarif? Do you have a pet?
Zarif:
Of course I do, a cow.
All: A cow? Why?
Zarif:
Because a cow gives us meat and milk.
All: Oh yes, it does too!
Siti: Ive got a pet too!
All: Have you? What do you have?
Siti: A snake, Ive got a snake!
All: A snake? Why?
Siti: A snake gives us.. a snake gives us
All: Yes? A snake gives us.. what..?
Siti: Umm., I know, a snake gives us .... a brilliant smile.
All: Oh, really? Lets make a snack of Sitis snake!
Siti: No way! Not my snake!

Present and activate vocabulary flashcards for: camp / map / cap / sack.
Ask different Ps to point out the vocabulary in the picture.
