DEACON ORDINATION
There will be a Deacon Ordination service during the
evening service on August 14 to ordain Wesley Pelham.
SUNDAY SCHOOL BANQUET DATE CHANGE
The date for the Sunday School Teacher Appreciation
Banquet has been changed to August 25. Please call the
church office to sign up to attend.
HIGH ATTENDANCE SUNDAY
High attendance Sunday will be August 28. We will have
only one service at 11:00 followed by a covered dish lunch.
The church will provide fried chicken and asks that members
bring sides and desserts. Feel free to wear your favorite
school colors and join us for worship and fellowship as we
kick off the new Sunday School year.

SONS OF JUBAL CONCERT AUGUST 18

Join us at First Baptist Thomasville next Thursday night
for an awesome service of worship. The Sons of Jubal are
a volunteer group of musicians from across the state of
Georgia who come together to praise the Lord with
singing. The service begins at 6:30 P.M.

SAINTS ALIVE BEGAN MONDAY

A new year of Saints Alive resumed last week. The Saints
Alive Choir is for singers of all experience levels who
enjoy praising the Lord. The date the choir has selected
to attend the state Festival is October 6-7. Mark your
calendar and signup next Monday to attend this great
event in Toccoa, Ga. Bring a friend and come into His
presence with singing, and into His courts with praise!

CHILDRENS CHOIRS BEGIN AUGUST 17

Our scheduled kickoff date for our graded choirs is
Wednesday, August 17. Schools are back in session and
we have an exciting year of music and praise in store for
each of our children. Choirs meet from 5:45 to 6:25 each
Wednesday evening.

Promotion Sunday

Sunday, August 28
We will promote up to the next age or grade level on Sunday, August
28 at the end of the Sunday School hour. Remember, this is also High
Attendance Sunday, so be sure that any visitors you bring know where
to drop and pick up their children. If you or they need any assistance,
please do not hesitate to ask me!

RA's, GA's and Mission Friends

Join us on Wednesday Nights as we begin to learn more about Jesus
and how God is working through missionaries both here and far away!

I do hope everyone had a great start to the new

school year. Remember that your school is a
mission field and you are a missionary sent out
from First Baptist Church and our student
ministry. I am praying that you will be salt
and light this year in your school and to the
sphere of influence that you live in.

AWANA

Sunday, August 14 @ 5:30 pm

We will start back with AWANA on Sunday, August 14! For
children in 3K through 6th grade.
AWANA is a program that allows students to learn how to hide God's
word in their hearts and grow in their faith. Don't miss out on this
wonderful experience for your child. And BONUS- it is super fun!!

Early & Extended Session

2016-2017
We are on the lookout for individuals and families that will join us as
we serve during our services. We need people for both Early and
Extended and age groups Babies-2s and 3s-5s. If you are willing to
serve, please let Stacey know!
