Mohammed said: To show kindness

There are two slogans that are

loved by Allah.
These are Subhanalallahi wa bi
hamdi hi-Glory be to Allah who is
worthy of all Praise.
Subhanalallahil azeem- Glory be to
Allah who is the Most High.

It is better to sit alone than in

Do good
Indeed, those who have believed

and done righteous deeds the Most

Merciful will appoint for them

affection. (Quran, 19:96)
If you believe and do good, Allah will
bestow upon you affection.
When you do good, you are within
the realm of Allahs love, and He will
show you how He loves you.
He is ash-Shakoor and so will give
you so much more than what you
gave.

Love for people what you love for

yourself
Al-Ghazali states,

One is loving-kind among Gods servants

who desires for Gods creatures what he
desires for himself; and whoever prefers them
to himself is even higher than that as the
messenger of God may Gods blessing and
peace be upon him said, when his tooth was
broken and his face was struck and bloodied:
Lord, guide my people, for they do not
know.
Not even their actions prevented him from
intending their good. Or as he (may Gods
blessing and peace be upon him)
commanded Ali (may God be merciful to him)
when he said:
If you want to take precedence over those
who are close to God, then be reconciled with
those who broke with you, give to the ones
who excluded you, and forgive the ones who
wronged you.

Turn to God in all situations

Remember that nothing can harm

you without the consent of God.
While you must take care of yourself,
rely on God and know that He is
always with you and only He can give
you strength in difficult times.
Also remember that He will help you
can come out of a trying situation as
a better person if you deal with it
positively.

Say Hasbun Allahu wa Ni mal

Wakeel;
This has been translated as God
suffices me and He is the best
guardian.
It is an excellent way of reminding us
that whatever worries we have or
problems we face,
God has the answer and cure to all of
them and is the only One who can
really do what is best for us.

Stop Shaytan in his tracks

Shaytan is the source of many of our

negative emotions.
Its

his

job

to

make

us

feel

pessimistic and to despair of any

good in life.
When you feel these feelings coming
on, stop him dead in his tracks: say
Aoutho billahi minash Shaytan ir
Rajeem
(I seek refuge in Allah from the
accursed satan).

10) The Prophet Muhammad (peace

be upon him) said:
O God, grant me life as a poor man,
cause me to die as a poor man and
resurrect me in the company of the
poor..
His wife asked him why he said that,
and he replied:
Because

(the

poor)

will

enter

Paradise (before) the rich. Do not

turn away a poor maneven if all
you can give is half a date.

If you love the poor and bring them

near you..God will bring you near
Him on the Day of Resurrection.

11) The Prophet Muhammad (peace be

upon him) said:
Seven kinds of people will be sheltered
under the shade of God on the Day of
Judgment
They are: a just ruler, a young man who
passed his youth in the worship and
service of others for the sake of God

man

who

is

invited

to

declines, saying I fear God

sinbut

one who spends his charity in secret,

without making a show
and one who remembers God in solitude
so that his eyes overflow.

12) The Prophet Muhammad (peace

be upon him) said :
Anyone who believes in God and the
Last Day (of Judgment) should not
harm his neighbor.
Anyone who believes in God and the
Last Day should entertain his guest
generously.

And anyone who believes in God and

the Last Day should say what is good
or keep quiet.

13) Allaah has made Laylat al-Qadr

in this month, which is better than a
thousand months, as Allaah says
The Night of Al-Qadr is better than a
thousand months. Therein descend

angels

and

the Rooh

[Jibreel

(Gabriel)] by Allaahs Permission with

all Decrees,
there is peace until the appearance
of dawn.

14) BE BRAVE, PREPARE FOR

STRUGGLE,
PERSEVERE & HAVE CERTAINTY
THAT ISLAM WILL BE

likes it or dislikes it.
Dedicate yourself to changing this
world. Go against the grain.

15) 6 Easy Good Deeds:

1. Think of Allah before you take any action. Make
duah before everything- sleeping, eating, studying,
driving
2. Read the Quran in Arabic and the meaning
every day- take the time out of your busy schedule
to listen to Allah.
3. Become a serious student of this Deen. Try to
make it to the next Islamic class, halaqah or
meeting. Shock your friends, bring a notebook.
4. Evaluate yourself daily before going bed. Thank

Allah for good deeds, repent to Him for your

mistakes and sins.
5. Avoid looking at unlawful pictures, whether they
be from television, magazines, or otherwise.
6. Study the history of Islam. Learn of the great
scholars and warriors who died with Allah on their
lips and Islam in their hearts. Strive to emulate
them.

16)

8 Easy Good Deeds:

1.Spend some time listening to recitation of

the Quran. Find reciters that you like, try
Abu Bakr ash-Shaatri, al-Ghamdi, asSudais, al-Minshawi..
2. Encourage your non-practicing friends to
come to Islamic events.
3. Hang out with other Muslims.
4. Talk to your non-Muslim friends about

Islam. Have you taken the time to explain the

basics to them?
5.

convention/conference/camp a year.

6. Perform the sunnah and nawafil salahs as

much as possible. Find time to pray extras,
such as Salatud-Duhaa, Qiyaamul-layl, and
Tahajjud.
7. Buy Islamic gear instead of the latest
Tommy Hil, CK, Nike, or Adidas
8. Take the time to understand whats going
on in the Muslim world today. Do your part to
get involved and help relief organizations.

17) 9 Easy Good Deeds:

1.Try to fast Mondays and Thursdays as of
today.
2. Lower your gaze.
3. Start reading Quran after Salat-ul Fajr.

4. Go to bed early so that you can wake up

far Salat-ul Fajr.
5. Keep yourself in a state of wudu most of
the time.
6. Really listen to speakers. Take their advice
to heart, commit yourself to change.
7. Give yourself time alone, so that you can
think about your life, your deeds, make dhikr.
8. Start giving sadaqah daily, no matter how
little. Make it a habit like eating and drinking.
9. Spend more time reading Islamic books,
especially the Seerah, Hadeeth, and Fiqh.

18) 8 Easy Good Deeds:

1. Watch as little television as possible.
Seriously.
2. Go to the masjid.

3. Dont criticize if you dislike somethingdo your part to change it.

4. Stand up for right, forbid evil. Just say
no to gheebah.
5. Avoid eating too much. Do not eat
unless you are hungry and try not to fill
your stomach
6. If you like to listen to music, replace
them with nasheed, music with islamic
lyrics or with Quranic recitation.
7. If you meet any new Muslims, buddy
up with them and make them feel like a
part of your community.
8. Break out of your clique.

Avoiding What Is Doubtful

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be

upon him) said :

That which is lawful is clear, and

that which is unlawful is also quite
clear.
Between these two is that which is
ambiguous, which most people do
not know.

safeguards his faith and his honor.

20) Constancy in Good Deeds

Do good deeds properly, sincerely
and moderately and know that your
deeds will not make you enter
Paradise,
and that the most beloved deed to
Allahs is the most regular and
constant even though it were little.

Bukhari, vol. 8, hadith 471

21) Good Conduct toward others

The Prophet Muhammad (s) said:
Anybody who believes in Allah and
the Last Day should not harm his
neighbor,
and anybody who believes in Allah
and the Last Day should entertain his

and the Last Day should talk what is
good or keep quiet (i.e. abstain from
all kinds of evil and dirty talk).
Narrated by Abu Hurayrah, Sahih Al Bukhari,

22) [W]hoever abstains from asking

others,

Allah

will

make

him

contented,
and whoever tries to make himself
self-sufficient, Allah will make him
self-sufficient.
And whoever remains patient, Allah
will make him patient.
Nobody can be given a blessing
better and greater than patience.
Prophet Muhammad (s) as reported by Abu Said Al
Khudri
in Sahih Bukhari, vol 2 hadith 548.

23) If, in spite of intense

supplication,
there is a delay in the timing of the
Gift [al-ata],
let that not be the cause for your
despairing.
For He has guaranteed you a
response in what He chooses for you,
not in what you choose for yourself,
and at the time He desires,
not the time you desire.
The Hikam, Ibn Ataillah, Chapter 1, 6.

24) The Prophet Muhammad (s) said,

Do not wish to be like anyone,
except in two cases:
(1) A man whom Allah has given
wealth and he spends it righteously.
(2) A man whom Allah has given

acts

according to it and teaches it to

others.

25) A true action leads to the path of

virtue and good deeds,
and virtue paves the way of a person
to Paradise,
and the said person continues to
speak the truth till in the sight of
Allah he is named Siddiq or Truthful.
Lying leads to vice, and vice leads to
indecent acts and if a person goes on

lying till in the sight of Allah he is

named a liar.
The Prophet (s) as reported by Abdullah Ibn Masud
(r) in Bukhari and Muslim.

26) Shaikh Aid al Qarni gave us

the following advice in his book
Dont be sad

If you are stricken by povertyothers are

chained in debt

If you dont have shoes others have no

feet

If you have committed a mistake

correct it the doors of repentance ever
open!

The fountain of forgiveness is ever rich

So dont be sad, let all bygones be

bygones

What is predestined for you, you

shall see it happen.

29) Abu Hurayra reported Allahs Messenger

said :

Look at those who are inferior to you and do

not look at those who are superior to you, for
that is more likely to keep you from despising
Allahs favour on you
So Brothers & Sisters,
there are many who have les than us, and
who are going through more than us, let us all
sit and reflect and praise and give thanks to
Allah for all of the blessings we have,
all the good that has been given to us..and let
us also remember those who do not have
much, in our dua (our prayers)

32) When

am

feeling

low

and

downtrodden I just find a quiet place

and sit alone with my favorite book
(the Quran)!

pages my heart begins to feel lighter

my heart how much Allah really loves

33) Oh, but whats the use of trying

to be a good Muslim when I end up
sinning again and again?
Well, whats the use of bathing when
you get dirty again and again?
Salat (prayer) is a purifier.
Though you sin again and again,
keep returning to Allah for
purification.
Fasting is a purifier, Zakat is a
purifier, Hajj is a purifier
We can use the same analogy for
hope and motivation. We have to
keep finding them again and again.
Thats the nature of life.
