Caesars speech seems weak. His voice stammers outlining his physical
weakness in contrast to its superior identity which is hailed by the
cheering of the mob. His weakness further is evident where Antony
supports his going down stairs.
The speech of Cassius and Brutus is characterised by many techniques.
Cassius speaks quickly and roughly, this foreshadows the quick nature of
the events to come, he puts emphasize on words why should that name
be sounded more than yours? where emphasize is laden on name.
Further his angry tone is outlined through his countenance when saying,
now this man has become God.
hear me for my cause and Be silent. Such are sum of Brutuss orders
to the roman mob. His speech is not as powerful. This orders are followed
by audiences screams that outline their disapproval of conspirators act.
For his was ambitious I slew him Brutus renders such faults to Caesar
but fails to provide evidence. Which results in his appeal only be affective
for short time.
Antonys speech is characterised by proofs and he refers to the past
events to approve what he is saying. He says, when poor have cried,
Caesar had wept, Is this ambitious. Unlike Brutus, Antony uses facts and
events to verify his saying. This is far more effective than Brutuss appeal.
Antony says, My heart is in the coffin with Caesar and stays silent for
some time. This is a tactic used by Antony to allow the mob to consider
what he had said and for their reflections. With a great power he utter,
you are his heir and thus leaves a great effect on the mob. To imprint his
words on the mob he provides emphasizes and points at the audience to
address them directly. He successfully leads them to mutiny but cleverly
by saying, if I were Brutus and Brutus Antony, then i would ...mutiny, by
interchanging his name with that of Brutus he further inflicts blames on
Brutus.
