1. Description of the Item: Carbon steel structural materials.

confirming to IS: 2062 Grade Fe 410 W quality A.

3. All finished steel shall be clean rolled to the dimensions, section and masses specified. The
finished material shall be free from surface flaws, including rusting & pitting, laminations and
imperfect edges. Minor surface defects shall be removed by the supplier by grinding provided
the thickness is not reduced locally by more than 4 % below the minimum specified thickness

4. Chemical composition and permissible limits of variation of the material shall be as per
IS:2062. Supplier shall provide the test certificate at the time of inspection to the purchasers
representative.
5. Mechanical properties of the material shall be as per IS:2062. Supplier shall provide the test
certificate at the time of inspection to the purchasers representative .
6. Dimensions of the material shall confirm to IS: 808.
7. Tensile & bend tests shall be carried out as per IS: 1608 & IS 1599 respectively.
8. Each item shall be marked with manufacturers name, trade mark and BIS mark in addition to
verification details to correlate with material test certificate.
9. Testing and delivery charges shall be mentioned in the quotation separately
10. Material shall have minimum 6 to 7 mtrs length each.

2. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION FOR CARBON STEEL PLATES & FLATS

Supply of material shall confirm the following specification:
1) Steel conforming to IS 2062.
2) IS: 1730 Dimensions for steel plates, sheets strips and flats for general engineering
purposes.

2. Detailed specifications and Quantity: Structural chequered plates as per IS 3502 pattern 1D
and material confirming to IS: 2062 Grade Fe 410 W quality A.

4. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR M.S.PIPES.

M.S. PIPES:
1. Description of the item: Supply of mild steel pipes as per Indian standard -1239( Part1).
Test certificates with linkability shall be submitted during the pre dispatch inspection as per
specification, size & quantity given in the table.

3. Co-relating relevant linkable test certificate showing the physical and chemical properties
(check analysis) of the material shall be furnished as per IS:1239 (Part 1) along with the supply.
4. Material shall be tested as per the relevant standards.
5. Test certificates may be obtained from Government approved testing agency.
6. Any further test demanded by our inspection agency shall be arranged by the supplier at their
cost.
7. Specification samples of the pipe may be given to the inspection agency at free of cost
required to carry out any further test by themselves.
8. Pipe ends shall be plain and closed with end caps made of durable material.

9. Heat no. of the pipes shall be clearly marked on all pipes and must be linkable to the
manufacturers test certificate.
10. Each length of pipe shall be legibly marked with the manufacturers name or brand, the
specification No. and grade.
Note: 1.The minimum validity period of the offer should be for 90 days.
2. Material test certificates shall be submitted along with supply.
3. All materials shall be supplied as per latest Indian Standards.
4. Material shall be delivered to IGCAR store at Kalpakkam by the supplier.

After publishing the tender, if there is any change in specification, it will be published as
corrigendum in the MRPU portal.
