Dear my students, how are you today? Well, today we have listening class.
You know that listening is one of the most challenging skills for students to
develop and it is also one of the most important. By developing your ability to listen
well, it means that you develop your ability to become more independent learners, as
by hearing accurately you are much more likely to be able to reproduce accurately.

Well, students. Now we learn how to respond an expression of politeness or


kesopanan in Indonesian. Do you know some expression of politeness? This
expression is usually applied when you speak to your parents or someone
whom is older than you. Listen to me carefully, Ill read out a dialogue for
you that shows politeness.
Hesti : Mom. I will decorate my room to make it beautiful. May I move
this flower vase to my room?
Mother : Ok, why not? Lift it carefully, its breakable.
Hesti : Oh.. its too heavy, Mom. Could you help me lifting it?
Mother : Sure. Lets lift it together.
