LIGHTHOUSE We have received the following note from the Treasurer at Lighthouse : I'm
writing to acknowledge receipt of your cheque supporting Lighthouse this year and to thank you
and your parishioners. As usual the children had a great time at Lighthouse and the volunteers
were exhausted by it all but a great time was had by all. As always your support is much
appreciated.
MASS CHANGE Mass on Monday, 29th August will be at 10.00am in Our Lady of Peace.
DECEASED Please pray for Mary Ferguson RIP who died recently, her Requiem Mass will be
on Tuesday, 23rd August at 12.30pm in Our Lady of Peace, followed by committal at Slough
Crematorium. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen

ST VINCENT DE PAUL meet at 2.00pm on Tuesday, 23rd August in the Sacristy at Our Lady of
Peace. New members would be welcome. If you know of anyone who would like a visit from the
SVP please advise Yvonne.
REJOICE IN MOTHERHOOD : MOTHERS PRAYERS For Mothers who wish to pray together
for their children and grandchildren - Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunties! Please come and join us
as we pray for our children, Our Lady of Peace Church at 10.30am (as normal) or at 7.00pm on
Thursday, 25th August.. Please not for those unable to attend the regular 10.30am Thursday
meetings, once a month there will be an evening meeting at 7.00pm. All Christian faiths
welcome. For further information please speak to Denise or Kate.

SPIRIT AND LIGHT WORSHIP evening at St Andrews on Friday, 26th August at 7.30pm.
These evenings are led by Fr Andy, and involve moving praise and worship in the Presence of
the Blessed Sacrament, together with gentle prayer ministry where we invite the Holy Spirit to
come and bless us. All welcome, especially those who desire the Lord's healing touch. Please
speak to Fr Andy if you would like any more information.
CHURCH CLEANING Saturday, 27th August at 8.30am. Please try and spare an hour to help.
COME AND SEE Are you seeking peace and purpose in your life? Are you seeking answers
to questions such as: Does God exist? Why is there evil in the world? Who is Jesus Christ?
What hope does Jesus bring? What is the Church? What life does the Church offer us? A new
course for anyone seeking meaning to their life will be starting soon at Our Lady of Peace
Church. It will run on Thursdays from 7.30pm-9.00pm in the Presbytery. If you are curious,
unsure, or would like to know more, there will be an informal get together to explain the purpose
and content of the course on Sunday, 4th September at Our Lady of Peace Church, from
3.00pm. We promise to answer your questions as best we can and that, if you decide to take
part in this course, your participation will not be conditional on you joining the Church at its
completion. To register your interest, and for more information, please contact Yvonne or Fr

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL The next meeting will be on Monday, 5th September at 7.30pm
in the Sacristy.
BAPTISM PREPARATION COURSE The next Baptism Preparation course that Deacon Marek
will be running begins on Wednesday, 7th September at 6.00pm and will be held in the Sacristy
at Our Lady of Peace. If you wish for your child to be Baptised over the next few months, you will
need to attend the course. This is especially important for first time parents. If you have not
already advised that you will be attending, please contact Yvonne on 01628 605764.
INVITATION TO MISSION ANIMATION DAY All are welcome to attend on Saturday, 10th
September at St Josephs RC Parish Centre, 36 Cookham Road Maidenhead SL6 7EG. Coffee
10.30am talks by Mill Hill Missionaries and APF free lunch Mass 4.30pm (fulfilling Sunday

OUR LADY OF PEACE PARISH FEAST DAY will be celebrated on Sunday, 11th
September (coinciding with Our Lady's birthday on 8th September). There will only be one Mass
on the Sunday morning which will be at Our Lady of Peace at 11.00am, followed by a bring and
share party in the Presbytery garden. All welcome!
WALSINGHAM ANNUAL PILGRIMAGE for the Sanctity of Life, Sunday, 18th September, led
by Bishop Alan Williams. All are warmly invited to come in this Holy Year of Mercy. For further
details see poster on noticeboard or pick up a flyer from the porch.
