necessary for the role. I can multi task with attention to detail. With my experience
as a teller operations specialist as well as an accounting specialist I have strong
mathematical and auditing abilities. Currently in my role as an accounting specialist
I process collections of past due invoices having this background would benefit me
in this position with the task of collecting overdue tax liabilities. My background in
banking will provide me the necessary skills to review bank statements, accounts,
ledgers or financial reports. Another reason I am the person for this position, having
a strong customer service background I will be able to assist clients with questions
and explain guidelines and procedures.
I also feel I am the right candidate for this position because I am a mother and I am

TaxpayerServicesDivisions.Ingeneral,theTaxExaminerIIpositionreviews,examines,andauditstaxreturnsforaccuracy
andcompliance.

makeadifferenceinthelivesofchildrenbyenforcingthefinancialresponsibilitiesofparenthood,andtoassistMassachusetts

GeneralDescription:

TheTaxExaminerIIisanentrylevelpositionintheTaxExaminerseries.Theincumbentwillberesponsibleforthe
following:

Evaluateapplicationsforabatementsoftaxesanddeterminenewassessmentsbasedoninformationprovidedbyapplicants.
Willprovidetechnicalassistancetoclientsbyansweringquestionsandexplainingstateandfederaltaxlaws,rules,
regulations,guidelines,andprocedures.
Willanalyzefinancialreports,transactions,bankstatements,accounts,orledgers.
Willreview,approve,and/ordenyabatementclaimsandamendreturnsasauthorizedandnottoexceedthresholdsdesignated
withintheDelegationsofAuthority.
Actsasacustomerservicerepresentativeandanswertaxpayer'sgeneralquestions.
Performsproblemresolutionandaccountingadjustments.
Collectsoverduetaxliabilitiesandinitiateenforcementsanctionsagainstdelinquentaccounts.
Identifynonregistrantsandnonfilersandcompletetaxcompliancethrougheducationoftaxpayersonfilingrequirements.
Reviewstheaccuracyoftaxreturnstodetermineiftheproperamountoftaxhasbeenpaid.

Qualifications

ThisopencontinuousrequisitionisavailabledependingontheindividualstaffingneedsofeachdivisionwithintheDepartment
ofRevenue.OfficesarelocatedinChelsea,FallRiver,Hyannis,Pittsfield,SpringfieldandWorcester.
MINIMUMENTRANCEREQUIREMENTS:Applicantsmusthaveatleast(A)twoyearsoffulltime,orequivalentparttime,
professionalexperienceinaccounting,auditingortaxexaminingwork,or(B)anyequivalentcombinationoftherequired

experienceandthesubstitutionsbelow.
Substitutions:
I.ABachelor'sorhigherdegreewithamajorinaccounting,businessadministrationorbusinessmanagementmaybe
substitutedfortherequiredexperience.*
