Preface
Thanks to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, for the grace that is given to us, and thanks
also to Mr. Ari for having guided us and finally I was able to complete the task that contains a
collection of MUSEUM BALI that the last time we visited together. In this task I discuss
about the collection of cloths, calendar and lontar Bali. As we know, we have a common
ancestor with many legacy for our needs. We must know and understand the legacy of our
ancestors.
With my discussion this time, I hope the reader can understand from the legacy. I am
aware of the deficiencies that exist in this task, I want to criticism and suggestions from
readers for the perfection of this task.

Bali Museum
Bali Museum is located in downtown Denpasar, on the east Puputan Badung. Bali
Museum is using the traditional architecture with Balinese ornaments. The shape of the
building extends from north to south. This time I will explain the content of the Bali
Museum, I am interested and admire about the collection that I have seen in the Museum of
Bali.
1. Palelintangan

This is a calendar to determine the day of birth and knowing human nature. This
consists of 35 days, according Sapta Wara (7 days) of Sunday - Saturday and Panca
Wara (5hari) Umanis-Kliwon. Each box that is in see, showing human nature that was
born on that day.

2. Lontar
Lontar is a script written on Lontar leaves sized 20-40cm. written using (Aksara Bali)

which contains poems or stories (Kekawin) of the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, saga
of the kings (Babad), and customs rules.

The various types of cloth.

1. Kain Poleng

Kain Poleng is a cloth that has two colors black and white, square-shaped to have a
religious meaning, black and white means Rwa bhineda, is good and evil. Can be seen giant
clothes like Hanuman and Bima.

2. Kain Cepuk

Kain Cepuk is cloth used for clothing prayer, and activities (Manusa Yadnya) in its history,
this cloth is used by the small community.
3. Kain Songket

Kain Songket is a cloth made with the technique of inserting / linking / to raise
colored yarn to be used as a specific motive, generally floral motif. This cloth is
usually used by the royal family during religious ceremonies (Manusa Yadnya and
Pitra Yadnya). It is the cloth of Balinese traditional clothes.
4. Kain Prada

Plain cloth given flora and fauna motifs painted with paint (Perada) gold color. This
cloth is generally used for decoration on the building at the time sacred religious
ceremony in the form of gods, Pedapa, Tabing, Tungse, and as a bride in traditional
clothing / Balinese traditional clothes.

Conclusion

The end of the collection of the Bali Museum. Let us find out, how much the
imagination of our ancestors and appaise the work of our ancestors. Let us expand our
knowledge of the history of very hard. The way we know and use, we can show pride, to our
