Lecture 2
Proportions 1
Preview (/new-lecture/622484/popup/)
01:21:04
In this lecture, we learn the proportions of the human gure. This is one of the most important features of the gure to learn,
because if this is wrong, the whole gure will look wrong, no matter how nicely rendered.
Lecture 3
Lecture 4
Course Images
19:07
11 pages
Here are many of the images created during the course. You can use them as references during the exercises.

Here are my Photoshop Brushes. Click here to grab the brushes (http://ipaintgirls.com/Neilsbrushes.zip)
Front Skeleton
01:25:34
The skeleton is the foundation of the gure. It is what all the muscles attach to. You need to learn it in order to learn where the
muscles attach to, and learning where the muscles attach is the key to drawing gures quickly from imagination, the key to
creating awesome comic characters and video game characters, etc.

24:00 Draw the Humerus bone on each side, i.e. upper arm bone
34:56 Draw the basic hand bones - we get fully into hands later on in the course
Lecture 7
01:08:03
In this lessons, we move onto the back skeleton, of which, the most important part to learn is the scapula.
Lecture 8
Preview (/new-lecture/355244/popup/)
54:04
The side skeleton is essential to understand how and why the gure looks the way it does in pro le.
Lecture 9
51:03
3/4 view will help you put it all together. This is the beginning of logically guring out any pose from your mind.
Section 3: Muscles and where they attach - Needed to draw any pose from imagination
Lecture 10
01:05:20
Now we get into all the muscles and where they attach. This knowledge will get you drawing the gure from imagination, but
without having at least the basic skeleton down rst, there is no way this information will help. The skeleton is the foundation for
the muscles.
Lecture 11
Peck muscles

43:54
4/12
8/7/2016
We learn about the pecks and where they attach to get the best understanding of how to draw this area of the body once we add
skin.
Lecture 12
01:00:54
Knowing the insertion points of the deltoid and triceps will greatly help with drawing the gure from mind.
Lecture 13
01:15:07
The obliques can be di cult to learn, but the way I teach, you will get it in no time.
Lecture 14
01:17:35
Back muscles seem di cult until you learn the very few muscles and where they attach. Suddenly, drawing back muscles from
imagination seems easy.
Lecture 15
Leg Muscles 1
01:00:41
Lecture 16
Leg Muscles 2
53:23
We continue to learn about the thigh muscles and where they attach.
Lecture 17
Leg Muscles 3
57:07
We continue to learn about the thigh muscles and where they attach.
Lecture 18
Forearms
01:07:48
Really take your time with the forearms. They are complicated. They take time to master.
Lecture 19
Forearms 2
01:42:39
We continue to learn about the forearm muscles. This is the hardest part of the course, so take your time.
Lecture 20
Calf muscles
41:06
Learning the calves isn't as hard as the forearm, so the hardest part is out of the way. Now let's break down the muscles in the
lower leg and where they attach.
Preview (/new-lecture/430254/popup/)
01:38:08
This is the second most important lesson in the whole course. Please don't skip it.
Lecture 22
Mannequin Part 1
02:20:21
Learning the mannequin, will help you see the gure quickly in 3D. You can then add the anatomy onto it.

Hands Part 1
Preview (/new-lecture/437096/popup/)
51:59
Hands are like learning to draw some alien gure. Seriously. They are hard, but these hand lessons will get you drawing hands
like never before.
Lecture 25
Hands Part 2
01:05:31
We continue to learn the hands, this time learning the few muscles in them. The skeleton of the hand and two major muscles
make up the shape of the hand.
Lecture 26
Hands 3
50:10
Adding skin to the hand is simple once you have mastered the skeleton and the few muscles.
Lecture 27
Hands 4
01:03:37
Now that we know how to draw the anatomy of the hand, let's draw several poses of the hand, to learn more how it looks and
works, so you can draw hand gestures and poses from your imagination.
Lecture 28
Hands Part 5
01:24:59
Lecture 29
Hands Part 6
42:15
Lecture 30
Hands Part 7
29:04
And now for some nal hand drawings to sum things up.
Feet 1
49:54
Feet aren't as di cult as hands, but they still might take a while to master.
Lecture 32
Feet 2
21:32
The muscles of the feet are few, so we can relax a bit here and learn them.
Lecture 33
Feet 3
01:35:57
Skull 1
Preview (/new-lecture/502942/popup/)
54:06
You might not realize it, but learning to draw the skull is a very important foundation to understanding how to draw heads and
faces from your imagination. You will be surprised how much better your faces and heads are after learning this.
Lecture 35
Skull 2
47:55
Let's learn the sideview of the skull, so you can better your pro le drawings.
https://www.udemy.com/anatomy-for-figure-drawing-and-comics/
6/12
8/7/2016
Lecture 36
Skull 3
01:24:14
I know that learning the skull seems tedious, but this is the last lecture for skulls.
Lecture 37
Face 1
01:40:03
And now we learn how to add the skin onto the face.
Lecture 38
Face 2
01:20:45
Male Skin 1
01:39:28
In this section, we learn how to draw skin. This is the nal details you add to a gure.
Lecture 40
Male Skin 2
01:18:44
Now we draw the skin on the pro le view of the male gure.
Lecture 41
Male Skin 3
01:23:13
Finally, we learn to draw the skin on the back view of the male gure.
Lecture 42
Female Skin 1
40:35
We draw the skin on the female gure, both the front and side view.
Lecture 43
Female Skin 2
01:21:10
Lecture 44
Female Skin 3
37:32
We learn the basic muscle map for the back view, then how to shade the skin. Adding skin onto the gure, drastically changes
how the gure looks, so this is important to learn. However, it is not hard to learn how to shade the gure once you know the
forms of the muscles.
01:34:46
Now we are going to go deeper into poses that are often hard to draw from mind because we never learned how the muscles
look in those views, but if you keep in mind where the muscles attach, you can logically gure it out.
Lecture 46
02:12:47
We are now going to learn how muscles change shape when exed, stretched, etc. This is muscles in action.
Lecture 47
01:12:40
We continue to learn muscles in action. Of important note here, we are going to learn how to draw the cords in the neck that we
see when someone exes their neck.

8/7/2016
Lecture 48
01:12:39
The elbow and knee can seem very di cult at rst, so we go over them in more detail, like how they look when bent at di erent
angles.
Lecture 49
02:00:50
Finally, we go over how the torso looks when bent at di erent angles.
Section 10: Learn where fat builds up and di erent body types and how to draw them
Lecture 50
Preview (/new-lecture/616086/popup/)
01:37:48
There are many types of bodies, so to make your gures more diverse, we are going to learn all the body types, and how and
where the fat builds up to create those body types. It isn't enough for a teacher to just say, here is this body type, and not explain
how and why we get that body type. Once you understand the fat system and where fat builds up in the di erent body types, not
only will you be able to draw all body types from imagination, but you will be able to invent new body types.
Lecture 51
43:49
Yes, males also have more than one body type, because fat doesn't build up in the same proportions on every male, so in this
lecture, we will learn all about male body fat.
Lecture 52
50:11
We Will learn the di erent types of female bodies and where the fat builds up.
Lecture 53
01:25:04
50:58
In this lecture, we are going to put all the knowledge we learned in this course and draw some gures in di erent poses, and all
from imagination, without any references. We are going to create!

I feel like I learned a lot. The instructor explains things very clearly and easily, and I can apply the video
concepts to paper right away.

Excellent course - like the pacing of the exercises so we can do them along w instructor, but he is very
repetitive about learning parts and "snapping into place." It feels like some of that "extra chatter" could be
truncated, allowing for a perfect product. Thanks!

courses are too long, apart from that ...its all pure quality lessons.
Only watched the start but they are smart methods that quickly make sense if you draw what he is
teaching. It sticks fast in your brain

Some people critiquing this video/instructor may say he jumps around and that his thoughts seem
somewhat scattered. I happen to like this as it leans toward introducing the next subject coming up, it ties
things together, and it reinforces important aspects of learning. I am taking my rst life/nude gure drawing
class and this info is very helpful as it is the basis from which everything stems o from. I am looking
forward to reviewing this rst video, practicing more, memorizing it, and going on to the next lesson. Thank
you! (and you cannot beat the price!!!)

I'm only a couple of lessons in, but the overall content seems adequate. The instructor can be hard to follow
as he can't seem to stay focused. His speaking style is almost stream-of-thought, and comes across like he
put little e ort into preparation... he's just randomly showing what he knows. Fortunately, he is repetitive,
so the general idea comes across eventually.
TLDR: It's worth the price of admission, but I've seen better courses.
