ORDER OF OPERATIONS: GEMDAS/PEMDAS

P/G - Parenthesis/Grouping: Operate the numbers inside the parenthesis/es
E - exponents: Simplify the numbers with exponents/powers
M
Multiply or Divide whichever comes first from left to right.
D
Example: 4x6 8, Multiply 4 an6 first, then divide their product by 8
A
Addition or Subtraction whichever comes first from left to right.

SPECIAL PRODUCTS:

* FACTORING is a mathematical process of finding the expressions which when multuplied will result to the given
product.
* COMPLETE FACTORIZATION is having all multinomial factors prime/prime numbers.
* A POLYNOMIAL is PRIME when its FACTORS are only ITSELF and 1 (one).
* GCF (Greatest Common Factor) - to be considered when a polynomial with a common factor takes the form of:
ax + bx + cx = x(a + b + c), x is the common factor.

REMEMBER:
* PERFECT SQUARE TRINOMIAL (PST) is the square of a binomial.
a. Square the first term
b. Plus or Minus twice the product of the two terms
c. Plus square of the second term.

* DIFFERENCE OF TWO SQUARES (DST) is the product of the sum and difference of two quantities.
a. Square of the first quantity
b. Minus the square of the second quantity.

* SUM OR DIFFERENCE OF TWO CUBES - is the product of the sum or difference of two terms and the sum of their
squares and their negative product.

* QUADRATIC TRINOMIAL is the product of two binomials (factors). It is an algebraic expression of the form:
ax + bx + c, where a, b, and c are constants and a 0.

* To find the product of a monomial and a polynomial, use the distributive property and some rules on exponents.
Combine like terms if there are any to simplify answers.

* If the distibutive property is used to find the product of a polynomial, the same property is used to write a polynomial
in factored form.
* Some guidelines in factoring are:
a. Look for a commone monomial factor.
b. Look for special products.
c. Look for a way to group the terms, in pairs or in groups of more than two terms.
d. Be sure that each factor is prime.
e. Check by multiplying the factors. The result should be the original expression.
