Mansfield, Tx 76063 August 23, 2016 Dear Parents/Guardians, Hello! My name is Emilie Colwell and I am currently a student teacher from Texas A&M University. I am so excited to have been assigned to Elizabeth Smith Elementary for my student teaching this semester! I will be working closely with Mrs. Kirchoff and Ms. Buffington throughout the fall. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to you and thank you for allowing me to work with your student! I am an Interdisciplinary Studies major with an emphasis in Special Education and I will be graduating in December with my bachelors degree. I was raised in Waxahachie, Texas and am very excited to be living in the area once again. While I am currently certified for teaching Special Education, I am also certified to teach in a General Education classroom as well. With both of these certifications, I hope to be able to combine my knowledge of both areas to be able to provide the best co-teach environment possible for the students that I will come into contact with this semester and in my future as an educator. As we move through the school year, please contact Mrs. Kirchoff, Ms. Buffington, or myself if you have any questions about my role in working with your child as a student teacher. I can be contacted at any time through email and will do my best to respond to you as soon as possible. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your student! You may contact me any time through email at: emilie.bentley@tamu.edu
