II-Materials
The steel members described on the drawings shall be made from steel plates
grade A36 (minimum yield stress of 2400Kg/cm2)
For plates the steel shall be A36 type according to ASTM standards.
For chemical bolts, use Fischer FIS EM Product.
III-Geometry
The skeleton is composed by steel columns and girders in2 levels floors
The girders are linked together by repetitive beams every 60 to 70cm.
The beams are the supports of the floor decking, constituted by Galvanized
corrugated sheets th.7/10mm and concrete toping.
All the data (structural and geometrical are detailed in the present report
(Nodes coordinate, connection of nodes by the bars, characteristics of bars.)

III-Structural Forces
III.1- Dead Load DLThe dead load is the vertical load due to the weight of all permanent
structural and non structural components of the building, such as
corrugated sheets and concrete topping for the present structure :
Self-weight of steel
Loads of mezzanine decking of 10cm
190Kg/m2
Superimposed Loads for mezzanine,
Such light tiling for mezzanine
100Kg/m2
Total Dead Load to be taken 350Kg/m2
III.2- Live Load LLThe live load is the load superimposed by the use and occupancy of the
building not including the wind load, earthquake load or dead load.
Loads on Mezzanine - Restaurant
400 Kg/m2
III.3- Load Factors and Load Combinations
Since the design of the structure is based on allowable stress design, each
component shall be designed to resist the most critical effect resulting from
the following combinations of loads:
DL + LL

IV.1- Concept
The modeling, analysis, design and dimensioning are computed by
Using the international software STAAD-PRO V8i,
Reference file titled sweet tea-mezzanine
IV.2- Allowable stresses
The sections adopted on drawings are verified conforming to AISC rules, in
such way to check the unity ratio (lower than 1).
IV.3- Allowable Deflections
All skeleton members are designed to have a maximum vertical deflection,
under live load, equal to L/360 for the beams and L/240 under DL+LL
Computed Deflection of the beam IPE200 on live load, span 5.7m = 1.58cm
(570cm/360cm)
Should be compared to 0.96cm (deflection on live load) OK
Computed Deflection of the beam IPE200 on dead load, span 5.7m = 2.375cm
(570cm/240cm)
Should be compared to 1.8cm (deflection on dead load) OK
