Final Update!!!

Thank you for your support in making sure that Birmingham Pride 2010 is a success. Please find below, the final
confirmed details for the day.

Saturday 29th May

09:00 – Volunteer Briefing – City Centre South Car Park (opposite The Village Inn), 152 Hurst Street, Birmingham, B5
6RY
A short briefing event for all volunteers, where you will be given a high-visibility jacket to identify you as part of the
marshalling team for Birmingham Pride (this will ensure you are able to move freely around the site as part of the
events team).

LUNCH: Here you shall also receive a £5 voucher which you will be able to use for lunch and
refreshments at the Loft Lounge.

BELONGINGS: Bags and Coats may be stored in the City Centre South Car Park; however access to collect items will
be between 18:00 and 18:30 only. Therefore, please ensure you keep all belongings that you will need for the day on
you.

GROUPINGS: Volunteers will form groups which will be 6 volunteers per float, 2 volunteers per walking group, and 2
volunteers to be located at each of the 4 stopping points. This will mean that the majority of volunteers will be
walking the parade with the floats; a great way to be part of the parade! These groupings will be noted after the
briefing.

10:00 – Start Moving towards Victoria Square

Following the briefing, we will make our way towards Victoria Square. Here, your group will be allocated a float or
walking group to accompany around the parade. Those that will be at the stopping points shall then be taken to the
stopping points from here.

There may be a little waiting around at this point, but we hope you appreciate that in order to ensure the event runs
smoothly, we all need to be in place, on time.

12:00 – Parade Begins!!!

The parade is expected to take 90 minutes to complete its route around the city (this route can be seen in the
marshalling pack).

13:30 – Parade Ends

14:00 – Return to City Centre South Car Park
Once the parade is finished, we would like twelve teams (listed below) to support us by fundraising for the event. This
will take the form of Collection Buckets and the sale of the Pride Day Guide. 10% of all the money collected
through sales of the Parade Day Guide will be paid out to each volunteer as a thank you for your
support. Collecting buckets will be issued at the meeting point (City Centre South Car Park). This provides you with a
fantastic opportunity support Birmingham Pride, whilst making some money for yourself too!

You will be paid the commission that you have earned at the end of the day.
