Palofs Procedures (Keep this in your class folder along with your syllabus)
Beginning of Class Expectations:
1. Sit down quickly & quietly.
2. Get out your L.A. supplies (pencil, notebook & class folder, student agenda, and Independent
Reading (IR) book). *Table Managers will pass out notebooks & class folders*
3. Any homework that is due should be placed in front of you.
4. Clear your desk of extra stuff by setting it neatly on the floor.
5. Sharpen your pencil if needed.
6. Record the learning target, homework & any needed reminders in your student agenda.
7. Start the Warm-Up (Look at the screen)
During Class Expectations:

Try your best.


Know the goal (Learning Target) & try to reach it.
Pay attention to instructions & directions.
Raise your hand to ask a question & wait to be acknowledged, do not shout out.
Sit up, do not put your head down during class.
Talking should be ACCOUNTABLE; do not talk over anyone, including the teacher.
Participate & use a low voice during group work.
Pay attention to teachers cue for attention/silence (count down & hand up).
ALWAYS WRITE IN COMPLETE SENTENCES

Ending Class Expectations:

Return to silence so you can hear any instructions given by the teacher.
Put away class supplies & gather your belongings
Give your class notebook/folder to the Table Manager to put away in the bin/on the shelf.
Turn in any work to be collected, following teacher directions for how to do so/where to place
work.
5) Sit quietly and wait for your table to be dismissed
6) When your table is dismissed, push your chair in and line up at the door in a single file line (along
the tape).
7) Wait to be invited into your next class, move directly into the next classroom when told to do so.
As a reminder
*Teacher ONLY will answer door and phone.
*NEVER get out of your seat in the middle of class.
*ALWAYS raise your hand to get out of your seat permission (tissues, pencils, trash, etc.)
*ALWAYS have your agenda in class and for a hall pass (fill it out!).
* ALWAYS a silent voice in the hall and when in a line.
*ALWAYS a silent voice for warm-up & independent work (alone work).
*ALWAYS a low classroom voice for group-work (I will call it group-work, you will know!)
*Always LISTEN during emergency drills and always get to a SILENT voice level.
*ALWAYS line up for fire drills and stay together in a LINE as a CLASS.
