Smart Oct.

Smart Oct. is a smart home automation system that allow you to control all
your home appliances remotely and provide you with all surrounding
conditions in your home like temperature, light intensity, and others.
With Smart Oct. you can also program your appliances to operate under
certain conditions (e.g. the air conditioning unit goes on if the temperature
is above a certain level or the lights of any room light if the intensity there is
under a pre-specified level and etc.)
Smart Oct. is easy to install with a very user-friendly software and reliable
plug-and-play hardware.

System Parts
Smart Oct. consists of some parts that operate with each other in a
coordinated manner:
Main Unit:
This is the unit that you can
communicate with from your
mobile/PC, its responsible of
receiving your commands and
transmitting them to the
surrounding appliances.
You can communicate with it via
Wi-Fi using our software
application.
Main Unit
It also contains an RTC for
perfect time counting and a buzzer which is used for alarming and any
other sounding effects.

Outlets:
This smart outlet will
replace the ordinary
outlet of your home,
after that you will can
fully control any
appliances connected to
it.
This outlet receive
Outlet
commands from the
main unit via RF, so the main unit communicate with all surrounding
outlets, and you communicate with the main.
The outlet is powered via a built-in power supply through the AC
power source.
There is a current sensor in the outlet to give you an idea about power
consumption of the connected appliances.
The outlet can come with an additional USB charger for charging your
cell-phone.
Here is a prototype for outlets:

Repeaters:
Because some outlets may be too far from the main unit that the RF
signal get distorted, we introduce the signal repeater which retransmit the signal to allow it to reach to further outlets.
It consists of a Microcontroller unit with an RF module in addition to a
power supply.
Sensor Boxes:
Because sensors is the eyes
of any home automation
system, we paid a little
more attention to it, we
introduce the Sensor Box
which can contain sensors
up to 4.
There are to available kinds
of sensor boxes:
- Wireless Sensor Box: this
Sensor box Ethernet connected and wireless connected
communicate with the main
unit via RF, and it contain a MCU that process the obtained sensor
readings, Its powered using to AA batteries.
- Ethernet-connected sensor box: this sensor box contain no RF
modules or MCUs, it can be connected to the nearest outlet via
Ethernet cable and then it uses its MCU, RF module, and power supply.
You can connect any desirable sensor to your sensor box and after that
you can get the readings of the sensor and use it to make any decision
like turn on the lights or etc.

This diagram illustrates how Smart Oct. is working:
