DAILY ROUTINE

A. Introduction
Dalam pelajaran ini anda diharapkan mampu menyatakan dan memberikan informasi
tentang kegiatan sehari-hari asking and telling daily routines. Topik ini sangat lazim
digunakan dalam percakapan sehari-hari
Untuk mampu melakukan hal diatas, maka pada pembahasan ini anda akan belajar dan
berlatih untuk memahami dan menggunakan kosa kata dan ungkapan yang berhubungan
dengan bagaimana cara menceritakan dan bertanya tentang kegiatan sehari-hari. Ungkapan
dan kosa kata yang dimaksud adalah seperti bagaimana menggunakan simple present tense
dengan benar serta menggunakan adverb of frequency, time and place.

Dialogue 1. Asking daily activities
Merry : What time do you go to bed, James?
James : I go to bed at 10.00
Merry : Therefore, what do you do?
James : I watch TV or do my homework
Merry : Do you always do your homework at night?
James : No, not always. Sometimes, I do my homework in the afternoon
Merry : Oh, I see
Dialogue 2. Asking daily activities
Robert : Do you usually go to work by car, Jane?
Jane : Yes, I do, Except when my car is broken. So, I go by public transportation then.
Robert : Do you like that?

Jane : Not really, because its not economical and it takes a lot of time, too
Robert : How about if I take you work?
Jane : Id love to, but would it be trouble for you?
Robert : No, not at all, because I always drive pass your house on my way to the office

Language focus
To ask somebodys daily activities, you say:
What do you do in the afternoon?
What do you do in the morning?
What do you do in the evening?
What do you do at noon?
What do you do at 10.00?
To answer the questions, you may say:
In the afternoon, I do my homework
In the morning, I go to school
In the evening, I watch TV
To ask about the time somebodys particular activity, you say;
- What time do you go to bed?
- When do your parents go to bed?
- When does your mother go to bed?
- What time do you go to work (school, to take a rest, have lunch)
