• Vocational school owned by the Ministry of
Education and Research of Estonia
• 1 vocational school in Järva County
• There are ~ 1090 students, 66 teachers in Järva
County Vocational Training Centre
• Was established by merging Türi Technical and
Agricultural School and Paide Vocational
Secondary School on September 1, 2008.
However the school ´s history started in 1924.

•Järva County Vocational Training Centre is an
educational institute that provides initial and additional
vocational training and retraining in a wide area of
specialties.
•We have very strong ties with many local companies.
•We have the only vocational school in Estonia that
provides road construction training and equine
managament and production.
•Our school has participated in several projects since
2006.
•In Spring 2008 our building students studied in
Denmark while our cleaning service students studied
in Turkey (Leonardo da Vinci mobility project).

 Running projects
1. Leonardo da Vinci mobility project ´´Building the
Best Teachers´´
• “Building the Best Teachers”, is to improve
vocational education delivery by teachers of
construction trades while deepening the skills and
abilities of these specialists in construction
technology spheres, and to stimulate constant
employee development. Between January and May
2010, 11 Estonian vocational teachers of
construction trades will be sent to Poland, Germany,
and the United Kingdom to participate in job
shadowing, workshops and trainings run by
associated partners for validation of skills.
2. Leonardo da Vinci Partnership project ´´Vocational
Education and Training- Building the Best´´

Objectives are:
1. Deepening cooperation between VETs that provide
construction training and European construction
enterprises (Italy, Poland, Germany).
2. Exchanging new knowledge pertaining to
technology, construction practices, and employee
training needs in Europe.
3. Furthering development of pedagogies and practice
by improving training delivery through a unifying
medium, a CDROM as a resource to be used by
teachers and enterprise trainers of construction
trades.
Future projects
• Leonardo da Vinci MOBILITY PROJECTS for
Cooking, Cleaning Service, Warehousing,
Logistics, Agriculture, Car Service and
Diagnostics for students and teachers to participate
in job shadowing in EU countries.
• Teachers mobility duration: 1 week (3 days in
Vocational School, 3 days job shadowing).
• Students mobility duration: 2 weeks or longer.
• Project coordinator: Järva County Vocational
Training Centre.
• Partners: 1 Vocational School, 3 organisations.
• Working language: English.
