Aydan is a Multimedia student. He involves with lots of video editing and animations
in his study.

There are many field of jobs that requires a man-effort which accompanied by a type
of technology. As a multimedia student, Aydan involves with lots of video editing and
animations in his study. There are various choices of specifications and features Aydan
might need in his computer.
When it comes to speed and performance of a computer, Central Processing Unit
(CPU) is the most important aspect. It has advanced from a single core Intel Pentium to the
multi-core Intel i3, i5 and i7 models. Aydan will definitely want to buy computer that used i5
or i7 processor for makes his jobs become much easier than he using lower model of
processor, especially when it is involving video editing task.
As a multimedia student, most of the time he has to handle with multiple applications
at the same time in order to make sure his job will be more efficient. So, a good processor
will help him a lot. It should be noted that a quad core is not always better than dual core.
Aydan is recommended to get at least an Intel i5 processor or an i7 processor
because as a multimedia student he really needs computer with highest performance
processor. Aydan has to be more careful as it can be easy to over-commit to the processor
and limit himself when it comes to RAM, storage, and video card. He will get the best results
by balancing all of them. The best thing to do is use the recommended processor for the
programs that he uses the most.
Next, video card is used to help make things smoother especially if Aydan is doing
3D transitions and special effects, although it is not the most important component in video
editing system, it will definitely be an upgrade from the standard motherboard video chip and
it will take some of the load off the RAM. A good video card such as nVidia and ATI video
card with at least 512MB of memory is recommended for Aydan as it can also make preview
process run faster and this will helps Aydan settle his work faster.

The other feature is a graphics card. It is a device in his laptop that transitions the
footage from data into pixels. Having a lightning-fast graphics card is extremely important for
video editing. Two brands stick out when thinking about graphics cards which are NVIDIA
and AMD Graphics. Both NVIDIA and AMD Graphics companies produce amazing cards and
all three companies produce sub-standard cards. So he will need to do some research to
make sure he is getting a good deal.
Next, he other feature that Aydans computer would like to have is Random Access
Memory (RAM). It helps the computer to run multiple tasks at the same time without any
problems. The more memory his system has, the more editing he can do without slowing the
computer down. 2GB or 4GB of RAM will usually suffice for people that only use their
computer for surfing the Internet and watch videos, but video editing requires at least a
minimum of 4GB. Luckily, memory is pretty cheap so he should not have a problem
upgrading it if he initially did not get enough.
When he gets down and start editing or working with motion graphics, his computer
needs a place to put all of the temporary files it creates. This is where his laptops memory
will come into its role. The larger his computers RAM, the more space his computer will
have to store these temporary files so the faster his computer will work. If Aydan wants to
have real-time playback without dropped frames, he has to increase his computers RAM.
For a multimedia student like Aydan, 8GB of Random Access Memory (RAM) is
recommended. If he can afford to use bigger RAM, than it will be much better, but 8GB is
sufficient for him as multimedia student as he has to do multiple tasks using his computer. If
he found out that the current RAM does not enough for him and his works he can always
upgrade it in the future
For the monitor, it would be best if Aydan decides to go with a large widescreen LCD
monitor, 27 inches and bigger. As bigger ones are released, the prices of monitors are
always declining, so he also have the option of getting two smaller, around 21 inches ones
and having a dual-monitor setup, which is highly recommended. In order to do that though,
he will need good video card capable of supporting it. His life will be a lot easier if he be
able to use multiple screens for different tasks, and he will notice the difference right away.

The other computer feature is the hard drive. A standard hard drive size is usually
around 500GB, if Aydan is buying a pre-built computer. He will want to upgrade it or buy a
separate hard drive. It is because Hi-Def videos take up an exceeding amount of space. At
least 13GB of his hard drive will be take up for one hour of HDV video, and recent high
definition formats will require even more. 2TB internal hard drive is what he should
have. Aydan has to look for a 7200RPM drive, although it may not brings a big difference
compared to 5400RPM, but it will make some tasks faster. And the good news for Aydan is,
there is no huge price difference between the two speeds.

For multimedia student especially when it comes to video editing tasks, hard drive is
where all of the programs are stored in the computer, so the speed of the hard drive is
important to reduce time taken to perform basic operations such as opening software and
exporting footage. So SSD hard drive is needed for Aydan if he has tasks for editing video
because they are much faster and less tendency to failure than HDDs and Fusion Drives.
Another consideration that is extremely important for editing using a laptop is the
actual size of the hard drive. Aydan will be at the workstation with external hard drives if he
do editing things on a desktop computer. If he is on the market for a video editing laptop,
chances he wants to edit remotely from a location outside of his normal editing bay. That
means it may be difficult to deal with external hard drives. It is for this reason that he
probably want to get a big hard drive. It might be a mistake of thinking that he would simply
get a portable hard drive or SSD and carry it around with his laptop. In reality, another device
is just one more thing to forget.
To be concluded, a suitable computer specifications and features according to a
specific field of job or study is a major consideration to be taken of. As so, a persons work
will be done efficiently in a short period of time. Young generations like Aydan are good to
gain experience using high-tech computers to be adapted and ease his future working life.
