On October 20, 2014, Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke unloaded 16 bullets into
17-year old Laquan McDonald, in a cold-blooded murder that would be witnessed by
our community and nation when dash cam video was finally forced to be released more
than a year later. The senseless murder of Jaquan McDonald led to the Department of
Justice, Civil Rights Division investigation of the policies and practices of the Chicago
Police Department. As the Department of Justice continues its investigation, they look
to hear from the community through forums around the Chicagoland area.
During this Forum:

The DoJ will provide the current status of the investigation into CPD practices
and policies
The Community will get to ask questions of DoJ representatives
Attendees will be able to give their personal testimonies of their experiences
with officers of the CPD

Chicago and surrounding areas who will simultaneously open their
churches to host a full day of FREE life-saving health screenings.
Hundreds of health providers are volunteering their time to
administer tests to detect high blood pressure, diabetes, breast
cancer, Hepatitis C, HIV, and other serious illnesses as well as
provide flu shots and immunizations.
Free Screenings for men, women, and children will be available.
Medical tests will be administered and will take place prior to and
following church services.
