COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Students will be instructed online and offline programming techniques, examine on, examine off
instructions, master control relay instruction, output energize instruction, retentive output
instructions, timers and counter and counters, and review of number codes.
Projects include Parking Lot project, Drill project, and Timer project.
COURSE OUTCOMES:
Upon successful completion of this course, the students will have reliably demonstrated the
ability to:
1. Understand and apply the computer as it relates to the PLC Off-Line Programming;
2. Understand and apply Allen Bradley addressing;
3. Understand and apply number systems and related instructions;
4. Understand and apply counter and timer;
5. Understand and apply traffic light programming;
6. Understand and apply documentation;
7. Understand and apply batch programming;
8. Understand and apply math instructions;
9. Compare instructions;
10. Move instructions; and
11. Understand and apply sequencers.

TESTING POLICY
As per GBC policy, (see Student Code of Conduct & Discipline Section 3.2 & 4.1)
Tests and Examinations are to be written on the dates indicated. It is the students responsibility
to contact the instructor to arrange an extension within one week of the original test/exam date.
Valid reasons for an extension are at the instructors discretion.
TESTS:
The one written test on the last night is evaluated and given the appropriate grade.
ASSIGNMENT POLICY

WITHDRAWAL
Email cereg@georgebrown.ca with your request for withdrawal
If you stop attending your course without officially withdrawing, you will receive a failing grade that will
be recorded on your grade report, and you will not receive a refund of fees. To withdraw from a course
without academic penalty (ie. without receiving a grade of F), you must withdraw officially in writing
before 60% of the scheduled classes are held.
If you are withdrawing from a course, you must withdraw officially (see Withdrawal Policy). To
withdraw officially, you must e-mail your request in writing to cereg@georgebrown.ca. Please include
your name, your student ID number, the CRN (Course Registration Number) and the reason for the
withdrawal. Alternatively, you can withdraw in person at any Student Service Centre.
REFUND POLICY
Email cereg@georgebrown.ca with your request for refund
If you withdraw prior to the first day of the course you will receive the full refund less a $20 administrative
fee. If you withdraw up to ten business days (including the first scheduled day of class) after the course
start date, you will receive the full refund less the materials fee and a $20 administrative fee. If you
withdraw later than ten business days (including the first scheduled day of class) from the course
start date, you will not receive a refund.
