Hard to say because it is already very good!
With less group work
More guidance concerning the project and it would have been better if it were handed to the students earlier
during the course.
There shoud be some improvments with the wingems exercise. The overall teaching for the program was not
what I assumed.
it's better to have more practical stuff, like some relevant simulation or laboratory work are both interesting.
WinGEMSsi ei ole kytetty muilla kursseilla, joten se tuli nyt ihan uutena. Simulaatioharjoituksen aloitus olisi
ollut mielekkmp, jos WinGEMSsill olisi tehty vaikka papi helpomaa harjoitusta ensin. Lisksi valmiin
templaten muokkaaminen aiheutti yllttvi haasteita, ent jos helpompien harjoitusten jlkeen olisi tarkoitus
osata itse koota toimiva simulaatio? Lisksi, vaikka aikaa oli suhteessa paljon, loppuvuotta kohden kaikkien
kurssien tymr kasvaa, eli thnkin olisi helpottanut, jos ohjelman kytn olisi voinut opetella aikaisemmin.
Erityisesti kun kyseess oli ryhmty, yhteisten aikojen lytyminen oli superhaastavaa, ja uuden ohjelman
kyttmiseen kaikki kuitenkin halusivat osallistua.
This course should be included with the real lab work instead of the reference demo
Materials for the course were all over the different intranets and it might took an hour to find the scheduling info
for the course or some other info. Also the study materials do not form a coherent entirety, and are also very
confusing if one missed the lecture. There needs to be options, like even defining a range of books for those
who cannot attend that much. But the mood on the course was uplifting anyway!
I would have apreciate to have more days of tutoral of Wingems.
Maybe I am not the right person to evaluate the content of this course since I learned by working in a pulp mill
last summer most of the content of this course. But, from my perspective, the course could have gone deeper
in the subjects. Also, from biorefineries' bachelor module, there was a big project concerning prehydrolysis kraft
processes (Sixta's course) which has a lot of overlapping subjects with this course.

Some additional exercises that would have given additional exam points would have been nice as well. Since
practically everything in this course can be read from vast amounts of literature concerning pulping, it would
have been better if points would have been given to students who haven't got the time to attend lectures as
well.

Simulation was OK, however, the combination of rather superficial seminar and lighter simulation was in my
opinion, not so beneficial in case of learning. I would rather had only a proper simulation since we do not do
that kind of simulations enough in our school. Seminars on the other hand are something that is present in
almost every course. And because the course did not cover the subjects that how to give a good seminar and
the 10 minutes timelimit of the seminars was very short, it felt like just extra work with not so much things that
student could learn from doing it.
More case-approaches to illustrate problems. For instance, why are we discussing so much about conventional
pulping methods as a basis for biorefineries: Besides living in Finland with suitable raw-material as a pro, the
costs of building non-conventional ones rather than profiting from the present infrastructure would be relatively
high.

Very nice course, the best course that i have done before in our field
No Just thank You for the organization of this course it is as far one of the best courses I took in my master.
It was nice to have a course about pulping, since that is one of the most probable topic for a student from this
major to have actual use in the future work life.
Lecturer had a good, calm, pace in teaching and it was really easy to follow. Maybe in the future lecturer could
go from the basics in to the harder stuff a bit quicker, sometimes obvious and previously learned stuff was
covered too thoroughly.

Excursion was nice.


The excursion was a nice addition which gave a concrete perspective to the course content.
Also the lecture about Mets Group, although and possibly even due to having visited Rauma already, gave
also some perspective.
There could be more discussion at the end of lectures: In order to encourage people, it could be emphasized
that the quality of the question doesn't need to be that high. By asking and getting a reply, it is often the easiest
to remember stuff, because the info is in a way formulated to your own needs (compared with following only
lecture slides).
