God has used Father to describe how He relates to usand how we
ought to relate to Him.
I. The Father provides for His children.
Our heavenly Father takes seriously His responsibility to care for His
children.
1. Physical needs - Give us this day our daily bread.
2. Other needs - we are social, emotional and intelligent
beings (most of the time).
II. The Father has authority over His children.
Our heavenly Father uses His authority over me for my good.
1. He has the right to tell me what to do.
2. He has the right to punish me when I disobey
Heb. 12:6-11 and the pleasure to reward me when I am
obedient.
III. The Father is the ultimate for His children.
Our heavenly Father is the best at everything.
He wants to help you do better at what you do.
IV. The Father has a blood relationship with His children.
God is only our heavenly Father if we are born into His family.
1. Unless a person receives spiritual life from Him, God does
not consider Himself their Father.
2. John 1:12-13 tells us how to become children of God.
How do we related (as His children) relate to God as our Father?
