WEEKLY EVALUATION

SELF
During this rotation, I was able to heighten my knowledge towards different aspects.
For personal, I was able to see growth in myself wherein I was able to evaluate the transition
from being second year, were we deal pediatric clients, and to being third year were we deal
adult clients with different diseases that is common and at the same time new to us.
However, in spite of the challenges of being a student nurse I was able to accomplish our
General Objectives and Specific Objectives on the whole rotation.
CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR
Our beloved Clinical Instructor Mrs. Jesusa Gabule, RN, MN, who was assigned
particularly in the surgical ward for several years, shows and executes of being a highly
competitive nurse wherein she was able to handle not merely the students problems but
also the needs of the patients who experienced biophysical deficit in which she was able to
attend immediately equipped with intellect and skills that were crafted along her journey of
being a nurse.
AREA OF EXPOSURE
On our third rotation, we were assigned in a government/public hospital which is
Northern Mindanao Medical Center particularly in the surgical ward which is in line in our
course which is about Medical-Surgical Nursing. In the surgical ward, I would like to
commend that their nurses were very accommodating to student nurses especially the Nurse
Supervisor. Also, they were able to maintain the cleanliness of the area by mopping the floor
from time to time. On the other hand, I was able to observe during our clinical exposure I
have noticed that they lack equipment also the ventilation of the other wards are not wellventilated. Also, I was able to ask one of the patient that some of them were not very
accommodating. In addition, I have noticed that there is this one time wherein the vital signs
of the night shift was not indicated because there is no nursing attendant that was on duty.
SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT TOWARD ASPECTS BEING EVALUATED
About the area of exposure, I can only say is that hoping they would be able to be
competent enough when it comes to the facilities because they claim that they are ISO
accredited which means they are competent. However, there are also practices that was
done in the area that is deleterious. Also, hoping that they will practice impartial when giving
quality nursing care especially to those patients who are indigent and less fortunate.
