Arnold Schwarzenegger is a character very famous in the Western culture, he starts his
career as a bodybuilder, lastly after became the greatest bodybuilder of all the time he go
into the world of acting, starring a lot of successful characters. He born in Graz Austria in
1947 and when he was and grown up he established in California. He began his career in
the bodybuilding at the age of 15 years. Later, with only 20 years old he became Mr.
Universe. Throughout his life Arnold shows the world the representation of hard work for
achievements and Competitiveness.
Since he was a child, he had inclinations to be a sportsman; he tried luck with some sports
but didnt get satisfactory results. Later, with 15 years starts to training in a local gym in
Graz, despite not having the approval of his parents. When Steve Reeves one of the Arnold
idols died in 2000 he says "As a teenager, I grew up with Steve Reeves. His remarkable
accomplishments allowed me a sense of what was possible, when others around me didn't
always understand my dreams. (Denera, 2012).Over time he keep on and he trained more
than other people, he want to become the greatest and he was so commited with his goals,
when Arnold was starting his career says "It would make me sick to miss a workout... I knew I
couldn't look at myself in the mirror the next morning if I didn't do it." (HOLIDAY, 2014).
He never stops and after winning the local competitions in Graz, he want to conquer America, once Arnold
move to America says "The Mr. Universe title was my ticket to America the land of
opportunity, where I could become a star and get rich (The Telegraph, 2013). In the firsts
years of his career Arnold, shows the great hard working spirit that he has. He never give

up and knows that after arriving America, he have to compete with the best bodybuilders of
the world.
With his objectives on mind he starts the training in America in the gold gym and by the
age of 20 was dominating the sport of competitive bodybuilding, becoming the youngest
person ever to win the

dedicate him to acting. When he already becomes a legend, he biggest opponent was
himself; he wanted to compete with himself, in an Interview says Strength does not come
from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and
decide not to surrender, that is strength Schwarzenegger continues to work out even today.
When asked about his personal training during the 2011 Arnold Classic he said that he was
still working out a half an hour with weights every day, He is proof that anyone with a
dream and a drive to succeed, have to compete with others, but more important compete
with himself to achieve their goals.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is a huge icon of the image culture and the biggest of the
bodybuilding. Throughout of his life he is dedicated to achieve objectives almost from
nothing, through the hard working and competitiveness. He has inspired these values in
millions of people with his example of life and his wisdom, expressed in all the interviews,
all the speeches, and in the huge number of books that have been written telling his life
history.
