Position : Language and Cross Culture Coordinator


Position Description:
The position of Language Cross-Cultural Coordinator (LCCC) is responsible for the coordination and production of
language and cross cultural learning curricula, materials and appropriate events for the life of a Peace Corps
Volunteers service. The LCCC works very closely with the Training Manager to identify, recruit and select siSwati
Language trainers and to design and implement a Training of Trainers (TOT) program for all temporary training staff,
with special emphasis and responsibility for Language/Cross Cultural Informants (LCIs). Within guidelines established
by Peace Corps Washington and the Peace Corps Swaziland Post, the LCCC monitors language development of
Trainees and Volunteers and is also available as a language and culture resource for staff.
Mandatory requirements:

Bachelors degree in African Languages Teaching/Training or equivalent with at least 3 or more years
experience in Language and Culture Training and Management, and is a Swazi citizen.

Be experienced in Program evaluation, and curriculum design,

Be experienced in materials development and lesson planning,

Be experienced in pre and in-service teacher training, teacher assessment and training of trainers

Be experienced in program management and intercultural communication.

Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet.


Desired Qualifications

Prior experience with Peace Corps

Experience working with community leadership and developing a community based training site

Familiarity with American culture and diversity

Supervisory and or personnel management experience


Salary plus Allowances and Bonus:
Salary is commensurate with experience. In addition, a 13th month bonus, Meal and Miscellaneous Allowances as well
as Health and Social Security Insurances are provided.
