The Obituary
December 1, 1946

September 4, 2016

Sarah Delcine Bolar Wilkerson was affectionately known as BabyDear by family and friends.
She was the second of twelve children born to the late Rev. Liston & Theresa B. Bolar. She entered this world at
the familys home on December 1, 1946, in Prichard, Alabama. On September 4, 2016, our beloved; Mother,
grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend Sarah slipped from time into eternity.
Sarah accepted Christ at age four, was baptized and spent her formative years at Mount Carmel Baptist
Church in Prichard, Alabama. She was raised and attended local schools in Prichard, Alabama and
graduated from Blount High School from in 1964.
After High School Sarah moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and lived with her late aunt, Mary Bolar Washington and
her family. She then continued her education at the University of Cincinnati. She began her career at Cincinnati
Bell starting as a telephone operator and advanced into management. She worked at Cincinnati Bell for
approximately 26 years until her retirement.
Sarah had a great teaching ministry on How to Study the Bible. She taught the course for over 30 years at
Tried Stone Baptist Church, Word of Deliverance Ministries for The World and throughout the United
States. She was a member of Tried Stone and also served there singing, praising, and praying with the
intercessory prayer team. Most of all she was passionate about her personal witness of Jesus and
especially the ministry of the Holy Spirit. She prayed and prayed for her family and friends to accept and
know Jesus and be filled with the Holy Spirit!
Sarah expressed her Christian life and walk with compassion and caring. She gave of herself to her son,
daughters and grand children; she cared for her youngest sister during her mothers illness; she also shared in
the care for her ill mother; legally adopted relatives as her own; was surrogate mother to nieces and cousins;
and always welcomed family into her home. Sarah loved to dress with fancy hats, dresses, suits and exquisite
shoes. She wanted everyone to know she was a member of the Royal Family of God.
Sarah leaves her family to cherish her memories. One son; Lonrick Bolar (Roslyn); three daughters: Jovana
(Jianni A), Monalisa Lawrence (Eric) and Dianah Wilkerson-Ball (Raphaol), three-grand-sons; Malachi,
Mason, and Jhurne., four grand-daughters; Machiah, Devauna, Gabrielle and Addyson. Five sisters: Angeloyd
B. Fenrick (Joseph), Thelia B. James (Bernard) Constance B. Fleming (Ronald), Sheila Bolar, Stephanie B.
Hatcher (Douglas), a sister engrafted in to the beloved; Terri Young, Three brothers; Jerone L. Bolar (Dr.
Eleanor), Charles E. Bolar (Sherese) and John Bolar; a beloved cousin; Anna Smith, One uncle; Wallace
Bolar, One aunt; Umerline Stanton, a devoted niece; Tamala Bolar-Lawrence, devoted cousins; Vanessa
Slater, Cassandra (Sandy) Fowler & Kelvin Washington; A circle of sister friends (Sharon K Philon, Pat Gault,
Beverly Dean, Kay Marshall, Kathy Miller and Sis Tommie Culbreath), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
other relatives & friends.
[Her great aunt, Maggie McCoy sent a card that came on the date of Sarahs birth that said to the BabyDear.
At a neighbors dubbing (Mrs. Geneva Washington), she urged our mother, Theresa, to call Sarah, BabyDear
and the name stuck.] Sarah was always a fighter with a determined spirit that continued to the end.
We thank God she is resting in His loving care.
Respectfully submitted,
The Family
