The Role Westpac Business Graduate

In your role, experience is valued but not essential. You will be using the skills and knowledge developed in your
degree to work closely with our client base and our team, and contribute to our overall business. Expect to work in
a variety of divisions culminating in a role aligned directly to your postgraduate degree specialisation.
As a Westpac Business Graduate you will rotate through a number of Westpacs core business functions to get a
true idea of how we work. On a daily basis you may be involved in: collaborating in cross-functional teams,
reporting, building your skills to lead and motivate teams, contributing to research, strategies and initiatives, or
shadowing business leaders.
There are also opportunities to join different extra-curricular groups, clubs and committees and work on exciting
projects to showcase your flare for courage and innovation. We strongly encourage our Westpac Business
Graduates to get involved in these activities to build a strong team spirit!

Selection Criteria
We are seeking candidates who possess the following skills and competencies:
1. Demonstrated experience in contributing to a team work environment, including the ability to work
cooperatively, flexibly and effectively in a team
2. Demonstrated ability to set goals, plan activities and manage time to achieve objectives in the face of
competing demands.
3. Ability to develop and maintain a positive attitude in an environment of continuous change
4. Willingness to develop skills and knowledge and undertake new challenges
5. Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and promote effective relationships with
colleagues and clients.
6. Excellent presentation skills with the ability to relate confidently and credibly to a wide range of
audiences.
7. Self-starter - proactive and demonstrates initiative
