Unlocking bootloader and flashing of custom recovery

I. Preparatory Procedure:
1. Enable Usb debugging and Enable OEM unlock in the Developer Options of your Note 3
(Additional Settings > Developer Settings>...), look Fig.1.

Download to PC and unzip Archive_kenzoUnlock.zip from:

After then also unzip kenzoUnlock.zip and copy folder kenzoUnlock to the root of your system
disk C. In this folder is the fastboot variant of ROM Global Stable MIUI 7.1.8.0 with modified
emmc_appsboot.mbn and boot.img which were received from:

Install MiPhone20151028.exe on your PC. Before the installation of MiPhone20151028.exe,
please, disable driver signature enforcement on your PC for Win 8, 10. For Win 7 you must to
confirm the installation of unsigned drivers for each request. After installation you should to
restart PC! Now you have all installed drivers!
Connect your Phone to PC and allow the Usb Debugging in the POP-Up Notification on your phone
(Fig.2.).

6. Open the folder kenzoUnlock in the root of system disk C on your PC. In this folder you must to open the
Command Prompt window (Shift+Rigth click of Mouse and click option Open Command Prompt, for
example).

7. Now check if the Phone is connected via ADB or not (Fig. 3.). Type in the Command Prompt:

adb devices
and press Enter. Your Phone must be identified (FIG. 3.).

8. If Phone connected successfully then type:

adb reboot edl

in the open of early the Command Prompt. In this case you can see red light in the right top
corner of Phone
9. The Phone would be rebooted after the command to a black screen and a driver starts to install the
"qshusb qloader 9008". After driver successfully installed, please, open MiFlash.

II. Configuration of MiFlash:

Now you should be to connect Phone to PC and push button "Refresh" in MiFlash

III. Flashing:

Press button Flash in MiFlash.

It would take some time to flash about 150-250 seconds or more (if MiFflash shows an error on
clicking Flash, please restart MiFlash and try again).
2. After the MiFlash flashing is completed successfully you should to restart MIUI system by pressing
the Power button on your Phone.
3. After the full start of MIUI in Phone, please, enable Usb debugging and Enable OEM unlock in
the Developer Options of your Note 3 (point 1 of part "Preparatory Procedure" of this
instruction).

IV. Unlocking Procedure:

Boot your Phone to Fastboot Mode by pressing "Volume Down + Power" for about 30 seconds.
The phone would switch to Fastboot Mode (rabbit in the hat). If the Phone was disconnected
from PC, please, connect it to PC again and open "Command Prompt" in the folder
"Archive_kenzoUnlock" on PC.
Type in the "Command Prompt" the command:

fastboot devices

and you must to see response which is similar as in the case of the command "adb devices" (point
7 of "Preparatory Procedure" in this instruction). Now Phone connected to PC in the Fastboot
Mode.
Type in the "Command Prompt" the command:

fastboot oem device-info

It will show you the current bootloader status (Fig.4.).

Type in the "Command Prompt" the command:

fastboot oem unlock-go

This command will unlock your bootloader.

Type in the "Command Prompt" the command:

fastboot oem device-info

again for checking if the status of bootloader had changed or not. If the status was changed (as is
on Fig.4.) then you have the unlocked bootloader. Congratulation!

If you don't want to flash the custom recovery then type the command:
fastboot reboot
for restart of your Phone. In other case we go into the part about flashing the custom recovery.

V. Flashing the custom recovery (TWRP-3.0.2-1-kenzo):

If your Phone there in the Fastboot Mode, connected to PC and Command Prompt is open in
the folder Archive_kenzoUnlock (in this folder there file "twrp-3.0.2-1-kenzo.img") then type in
"Command Prompt" the command:

fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-1-kenzo.img

2.

Its for flashing of customer recovery in your Phone.

After flashing the custom recovery, please, type in the "Command Prompt" the command:

fastboot reboot
for restart your Phone.

Citation: DON'T FLASH MIUI RECOVERY ZIP ROM VIA TWRP after unlocking bootloader. IT HAS
STOCK BOOTLOADER AND IT WILL BE RELOCK BOOTLOADER AND THEN BOOTLOOP . Only use
Fastboot ROM and that too replace the unlocked bootloader file. If you are stuck on bootloop then try
to go to Qualcomm download mode using test points:
