PRACTICUM GOALS
My two goals were;
Having clear and concise instructions, and to learn a new management technique that can be applied inside
and outside of the classroom. | believe I have met my goal of clear and concise instructions. | took my time in
all lessons, explaining my learning step by step. Learning a new management technique is a goal I will continue
to work on. I need to establish a management technique at the start of next years posting, embedding it
throughout lessons.
STUDENT EVALUATION
Overall this practicum has been an amazing experience, really enjoying my time here at Halfway Bush. Not only were the
pupils a pleasure to teach, but also my associate, the staff, and principal af Hallway Bush were very welcoming, making us
feel apart of the school. | cannot express how much them welcoming us and supporting us students has made this
placement one to remember. Me and the other college students highly recommend Halfway Bush, and will be putting a
good word out to all other students. The students in this school have a caring manner, supporting and looking out for all
other students in the school, Throughout my placement my associate teacher Graham has supported my teaching,
providing me with new ideas while also giving me relevant feedback to apply in future lessons.
FUTURE GOALS
To develop my own method of getting the altention of the whole class. This could be different methods, one for
inside the classroom and one for outside. | would also consider incorporating a positive reinforcement strategy
within the classroom.
I would also like the opportunity to please return to Halfway Bush with my associate. | think this would benefit
my teaching, as | would be working with the age group of year 4,5,6 this would be an opportunity to work with a
range of children, creating lessons to support learning of ail levels.

Lessons. Abby was also well prepared for her lessons. Over the length of her posting she has taught lessons in a
range of areas including handwriting, mathematics, reading, english, art, and physical education. Her lessons
were always presented prior to her teaching with clearly identified achievement objectives and detailed
Progressions of how the lesson would proceed. She was always willing to organise lessons in all areas of the
curriculum.
Planning, preparation, reflection. Abby was organised for her daily lessons. She displayed her own initiative in
developing follow up activities for some of her lessons, which the children responded positively to. Abby
reflected regularly on her teaching and her evaluations were used to improve her follow up lessons. She was,
‘open to suggestions and was willing to make changes to her lessons as required.
Manages children appropriately. Abby has a positive manner with the children. She uses praise judicially to
maintain the positive culture within the classroom but needs to develop a method for gaining the attention of the
class once activities are under way. Abby is aware of the different needs in the class and works alongside
individuals to support and help them achieve success with an activity.
Relationships; Communication. Abby gives clear instructions and she speaks with confidence when talking to the
class. There is opportunity to vary her voice more for different effects but this will come with more experience.
She has a friendly manner with children and appears genuinely interested in them as individuals and the children
are willing to share their experiences with her. She is developing her questioning skills so that children can be
drawn more naturally into the lesson.
Demonstrates professional role of the teacher. Abby has been very professional in her contacts with children,
staff and parents. She has been punctual and always willing to help in a variety of ways around the classroom
and school environment. She has willingly undertaken playground duty and I was really impressed with the way
she confidently walked around the playground independently without having to rely on her asso
