Directions: Read each word problem carefully. Identify the important values and unknowns. Use that
information to construct and solve an equation.
1. Quiara is doing her homework. She has 5 pages of English homework, which have 2 questions
on each page. She has 3 pages of math homework with 7 questions on each page. She also has 9
pages of sciences homework with 1 question on each page. How many total questions does
Quiara have to do for homework? Construct an equation and solve.

2. On Quiaras science homework one of the questions is about volume. The question states that
there are 2 cups on the table that have a volume of 2 liters each. There are 6 bowls on the table
that have a volume 2.5 liters each. Lastly, there are 4 boxes that have a volume of 9 liters each.
Help Quiara finish her homework, by finding the total volume of all the objects on the table.
Construct an equation and solve.

3. After finishing her homework, Quiara went to Yanelis house to make bows. They each made a
box of bows. In each box there are 7 bows with red glitter, 8 bows that are black, 9 bows that are
red, and 3 that are white with gold glitter. How many total bows did Quiara and Yaneli make?
Construct an equation and solve.

4. Quiara and Yaneli decided their bows were so beautiful they could sell. They set up an Etsy shop
online called Quiara and Yanelis Bowtastic Bow Wonderland. In the first week, their first
customer bought 2 boxes of 20 bows for $27, their second customer bought 3 bows for $2.75
each, and their third customer bought 4 boxes of black glitter bows for $50. How much money
did Quiara and Yaneli make selling their bows? Contruct an equation and solve.

Final Practice
Directions: Solve the final practice problem silently and independently by using factoring and
expanding.
1. Quiara and Yanelis Bowtastic Bow Wonderland sold $375 worth of bows in their 3rd week. If
Quiara and Yaneli each spent $50 on supplies for their bow shop, how much money did they
make total after paying for bow supplies? Construct an equation and solve.
