He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give

instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it. Titus 1:9
(ESV)
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need
to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 (ESV)
For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having
itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions
2 Timothy 4:3 (ESV)
Why do we bother with Bible doctrine? Where does it originate from? Is there any real
use for it? These are but a few of the questions we will attempt to answer in our next
Discovery session. A key issue will relate to the role of the mind in the life of a follower of
Jesus.
We will conclude our Unchartered Territories series by investigating the great doctrine of
the person and work of Jesus Christ. We will also touch on the doctrine of salvation which
is considered by most evangelical scholars to be the central theme of the Bible.

Little by little Christians these days are being brainwashed. One evidence is that
increasing numbers of them are becoming ashamed to be found unequivocally on the
side of truth. They say they believe, but their beliefs have been so diluted as to be
impossible of clear definition. Moral power has always accompanied definite beliefs.
Great saints have always been dogmatic. We need a return to a gentle dogmatism
that smiles while it stands stubborn and firm on the Word of God that lives and
abides forever. A. W. Tozer
