BTS3900B
Supports the AC input and PoE (Power over Ethernet) power supply modes.
The BTS3900B adopts a compact modular design so that the components can be easily
assembled and disassembled to meet the requirements for fast network deployment.

Appearance
The BTS3900B supports both the built-in antenna and the external antenna. Figure 2-1 shows
the BTS3900B with built-in antennas and BTS3900B with external antennas.

The following takes the BTS3900B module with external antennas as an example. The panels

The DC input power cable is 1.2 m long and has a 4-pin connector at one end. The connector is
used to connect the PWR port of the BTS3900B module.
2.3 PSE
In PoE power supply mode, the PSE is used to provide input power for the BTS3900B through
the Ethernet cable.

Step 1 Power on the BTS3900B.

AC power supply: Connect the AC power cable on the power adapter of the BTS3900B to
the AC power connector bar, and then power on the BTS3900B.
PoE power supply: Connect the PoE port on the PSE to the FE/GE port on the BTS3900B
main component through an Ethernet cable, and then power on the BTS3900B.
Step 2 Open the LED cover, and then check the status of the LEDs on the BTS3900B.
Table 3-2 shows normal states of the LEDs on the BTS3900B.

Step 1 Power off the BTS3900B in different power supply modes.

Step 2 Unplug the power cable from the AC power terminal bar to power off the BTS3900B.
Step 3 Unplug the RJ45 connector of the Ethernet cable to the FE/GE port on the BTS3900B panel to
power off the BTS3900B, and cut off the power of the PSE at the same time.

Confirm the number and frequency band types of the BTS3900B modules to be replaced.
Keep new BTS3900B modules ready and record the bar codes of the modules.
The mapping relations between the cables and the ports on the BTS3900B modules are
recorded.

Procedure
Step 1 Change the administrative status of a cell.
1.
On the BSC6900 LMT, enter SET GCELLADMSTAT in the Command Input box.
2.
Click Assist. Then, set Index Type to BYID(By Index), set Cell Index based on the actual
situation, and set Administrative State to LOCK(Lock), as shown in Figure 3-1.

Step 2 Change the bar code of the interface board on the BTS3900B.
1.
On the BSC6900 LMT, enter MOD BTSESN in the Command Input box.
2.
Click Assist. Then, set BTS Index Type to BYID(By Index), set BTS Index based on the
actual situation, and enter the bar code of the new interface board in BTS Interface Board
Bar Code 1, as shown in Figure 3-2.

situation, and set Administrative State to UNLOCK(Unlock), as shown in Figure 3-3.

Step 11 Check the status of the LEDs on the panel of the BTS3900B module. For details about the status
of the LEDs, see LEDs on the BTS3900B.
Step 12 Perform dialing tests and ensure that the cell services of the new BTS3900B module are normal.
