Blue Coat Level 1 Technical Certification - Fundamentals


Blue Coat Level 1 Technical Certification - Fundamentals. This is the first level of pre-sales training offered,
formerly known as SE Accreditation, and is completed via Blue Coat Learning Lab (BCLL). Level 1 Certification is
required of all partners in all categories and should be completed within the first 30 days. This training is also a
pre-requisite for BCCPSE courses.
The Level 1 Certification is designed to enable pre-sales engineers to deliver a presentation or a whiteboard
session on the fundamentals of Blue Coat and our solutions. The
Level 1 Certification Components
training covers foundational knowledge about Blue Coat, products
Blue Coat Corporate Introduction
and solutions plus basic competitive information.
The interactive, online modules and exam, delivered through the
BCLL, should take approximately 5-6 hours total and are entirely
self-paced, allowing the student to stop and restart at any point.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will have
satisfied the first level of technical requirements of the Channel
Advantage Program (CAP). Level 1 Certification is the only technical
requirement for Authorized Partners and is the required first step
for all other partner categories such as Premier and Elite.

Course Objectives
The course is designed to certify the capability of pre-sales and systems engineers to present Blue Coat fundamental
concepts and solutions. The Blue Coat Corporate Overview discusses Blue Coats background, markets and
opportunities. The Level 1 White Board course provides an overview of Blue Coat solutions and a unique method of
presenting to and engaging with customers. The three Fundamentals courses cover technology solutions as they align
to Blue Coats technology pillars; Visibility, Security and Acceleration. The three downloadable Sales Playbooks are
designed to be ongoing references and job aids for selling Blue Coat solutions.
At the end of this course, students gain an understanding of the unique features and capabilities of the Blue Coat
solution and are able to:
-> Present Blue Coats mission, solutions and technologies
-> Present Blue Coats Visibility solutions in context of a customers requirements
-> Present Blue Coats Acceleration solutions in context of a customers environment
-> Present Blue Coats Security solutions in context of a customers needs and requirements

The course is available free to all Blue Coat partners.
Students should plan four to six hours of study. This time can be broken up and the BCLL will manage student progress
and completion.
