FAQ
Q: Can I make a copy for a teacher so she can photocopy from the photocopy for her students?
A: Photocopying from a photocopy of this book is known as a pirate copy and is illegal. Isnt it better
just to purchase the book with photocopy permission for less than $50?
Q: Can I borrow this book from a resource centre or library, then photocopy it?
A: No, that would be copyright violation. You only get a photocopy license if you purchase the book
or your school has purchased site photocopy permission.

Introduction
I love teaching level one. However, it does have its challenges.
The challenge isnt the students limited language or even presenting
ideas. For me the challenge was and is having sufficient practices
and varying them enough to meet the students need for repetition
and still keeping them excited about learning.
The idea of putting together these books started four years ago
when I was asked to teach Level 1. I hadnt taught this level for
many years and remembered how hard it was to find materials.
After a renewed look for materials and finding only a page here
and there I started creating, testing and recording my level 1 ideas.
Teaching level 1 is about building a foundation. Its my hope that
these drills, worksheet and activities make your life as a teacher a
little easier and help you and your students have a good time while
building the foundation for their on going learning.

An 8 Week Plan
Here is an example of one of my eight week plans. Each week themes and
grammar points from previous weeks are repeated and built upon. There is a
constant circling back and the adding on of new elements. As well in some
sessions certain themes are developed more thoroughly than others, and some
themes such as health are often added.

finish it. When they have done what they can post a list of the colours and
allow them to use it to complete the puzzle.
Variation: Use only the puzzle with the colour list below. Students should use
the number of letters in each colour to find the correct spot in the puzzle.
